Coal imports in the country during the financial year 2024-25 dropped by 7.9 percent as compared to the previous fiscal year. The Ministry of Coal, in a statement said that coal imports in the country totalled more than 243 million tonnes in the financial year 2024-25 as compared to 264.53 million last year.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said that rainfall across the country in this monsoon season is likely to be above normal this year. This optimistic monsoon forecast is expected to boost crop output, reduce pressure on irrigation systems, and support rural livelihoods.

President Droupadi Murmu conferred Padma Awards to 69 eminent personalities for the year 2025 at the second Civil Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Of them, three were conferred with Padma Vibhushan, 9 with Padma Bhushan and 57 personalities were conferred with Padma Shri.

In a major drive towards self-reliance, India is developing Electric Hansa (E-Hansa), a next-generation two-seater electric trainer aircraft. This indigenously developed E-Hansa aircraft is roughly half the price of imported trainer aircraft.

The Central Board of Direct Taxes- CBDT has extended the last date of filing Income Tax Returns (ITRs), from 31st July to 15th September this year. CBDT, in its statement, said that this extension will provide more time to people due to significant revisions in ITR forms, system development needs.

The government has restored benefits under the Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme for exports made by Advance Authorization holders, Export-Oriented Units (EOUs).

• वित्तीय वर्ष २०२४-२५ के दौरान देश में कोयले के आयात में पिछले वित्तीय वर्ष की तुलना में ७.९ प्रतिशत की गिरावट आई। कोयला मंत्रालय ने एक बयान में कहा कि वित्तीय वर्ष २०२४-२५ में देश में कोयले का आयात कुल २४३ मिलियन टन से अधिक हो गया, जबकि पिछले साल यह २६४.५३ मिलियन था।
• भारतीय मौसम विभाग (आईएमडी) ने कहा है कि इस वर्ष मानसून के मौसम में देश भर में वर्षा सामान्य से अधिक रहने की संभावना है। इस आशावादी मानसून पूर्वानुमान से फसल उत्पादन को बढ़ावा मिलने, सिंचाई प्रणालियों पर दबाव कम होने और ग्रामीण आजीविका को समर्थन मिलने की उम्मीद है।
• राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू ने नई दिल्ली के राष्ट्रपति भवन में आयोजित दूसरे नागरिक निवेश समारोह में वर्ष २०२५ के लिए ६९ प्रतिष्ठित हस्तियों को पद्म पुरस्कार प्रदान किए। इनमें से तीन को पद्म विभूषण, 9 को पद्म भूषण तथा 57 व्यक्तित्वों को पद्म श्री से सम्मानित किया गया।
• आत्मनिर्भरता की दिशा में एक प्रमुख अभियान के तहत, भारत इलेक्ट्रिक हंसा (ई-हंसा) विकसित कर रहा है, जो अगली पीढ़ी का दो सीटों वाला इलेक्ट्रिक ट्रेनर विमान है। स्वदेशी रूप से विकसित इस ई-हंसा विमान की कीमत आयातित ट्रेनर विमान की कीमत का लगभग आधा है।
• केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर बोर्ड-सीबीडीटी ने आयकर रिटर्न (आईटीआर) दाखिल करने की अंतिम तिथि इस वर्ष 31 जुलाई से बढ़ाकर 15 सितंबर कर दी है। सीबीडीटी ने अपने बयान में कहा कि आईटीआर फॉर्म, सिस्टम विकास आवश्यकताओं में महत्वपूर्ण संशोधनों के कारण यह विस्तार लोगों को अधिक समय प्रदान करेगा।
• सरकार ने अग्रिम प्राधिकरण धारकों, निर्यातोन्मुख इकाइयों (ईओयू) द्वारा किए गए निर्यात के लिए निर्यातित उत्पादों पर शुल्क और करों में छूट (आरओडीटीईपी) योजना के तहत लाभ बहाल कर दिया है।
