National Updates

• New Delhi asserted that it is well prepared to retaliate if Islamabad escalate​the situation after India conducted precision missile strikes on Pakistan under ‘Operation Sindoor’.

• External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar spoke with his counterparts from countries including Spain, Germany, France, Qatar and Japan and discussed India’s firm response to cross border terrorism under Operation Sindoor.

• Pakistan Army Post initiated artillery firing and hit civillian areas in Poonch and Tangdhar of Jammu and Kashmir since yesterday night. Defence sources said that fifteen civilians were killed and 43 others were injured in this attack.

• The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has appealed to all tourists, visitors and local people who might have any more information, photographs or videos relating to the Pahalgam terror attack on tourists to immediately share with it.

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked the Lieutenant Governors and Chief Ministers of border states adjoining Pakistan and Nepal to keep strict vigil on anti-national propaganda by unwanted elements on social and other media platforms.

• The government has extended the tenure of CBI Director Praveen Sood for one year beyond 24th of this month. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the extension of Praveen Sood.

• नई दिल्ली ने जोर देकर कहा कि अगर भारत द्वारा ‘ऑपरेशन सिंदूर’ के तहत पाकिस्तान पर सटीक मिसाइल हमले किए जाने के बाद इस्लामाबाद स्थिति को बढ़ाता है तो वह जवाबी कार्रवाई करने के लिए अच्छी तरह से तैयार है।
• विदेश मंत्री डॉ एस जयशंकर ने स्पेन, जर्मनी, फ्रांस, कतर और जापान सहित देशों के अपने समकक्षों के साथ बात की और ऑपरेशन सिंदूर के तहत सीमा पार आतंकवाद पर भारत की दृढ़ प्रतिक्रिया पर चर्चा की।
• पाकिस्तान आर्मी पोस्ट ने कल रात से जम्मू-कश्मीर के पुंछ और तंगधार में तोपखाने से गोलीबारी शुरू की और नागरिक इलाकों पर हमला किया। रक्षा सूत्रों ने बताया कि इस हमले में पंद्रह नागरिक मारे गए और ४३ अन्य घायल हो गए।
• राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (एनआईए) ने उन सभी पर्यटकों, आगंतुकों और स्थानीय लोगों से अपील की है जिनके पास पर्यटकों पर पहलगाम आतंकवादी हमले से संबंधित कोई और जानकारी, तस्वीरें या वीडियो हो सकते हैं, वे तुरंत इसे साझा करें।
• केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने पाकिस्तान और नेपाल से सटे सीमावर्ती राज्यों के उपराज्यपालों और मुख्यमंत्रियों से कहा कि वे सोशल और अन्य मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म पर अवांछित तत्वों द्वारा राष्ट्र विरोधी प्रचार पर कड़ी निगरानी रखें।
• सरकार ने सीबीआई निदेशक प्रवीण सूद का कार्यकाल इस महीने की २४ तारीख से आगे एक साल के लिए बढ़ा दिया है। कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने प्रवीण सूद के एक्सटेंशन को मंजूरी दे दी है।

• The 14th edition of GISEC Global, the world’s third-largest and MENA’s largest cybersecurity event, continued into its second day at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring strong international participation and notable representation from India.

• The world community has shown solidarity with India after the Indian Armed Forces carried out ‘Operation Sindoor’ against nine terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.

• Dubai, UAE – Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, has called upon India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and de-escalate tensions. Sheikh Abdullah stressed the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding.
