• Union Minister Jitendra Singh Inaugurates 52nd Advanced Professional Programme in Public Administration.

• The government gave a one-year extension to Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri till 14th July next year. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved a one-year extension in service for Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, who is a 1989 batch IFS officer, beyond 14th July this year.

• Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation, EPFO has officially notified an 8.25 percent interest rate on EPF deposits for financial year 2025-26. The ratings have been declared following approval of the Ministry of Labour and Employment as per the EPF Scheme, 1952.

• The Government approved the construction of 6 Lane Road Tunnel For NH-148AE connecting Dwarka Expressway with Nelson Mandela Marg, Vasant Kunj in Delhi.

• The Viksit Bharat – Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) [VB-G RAM G] Act, 2025 has come into force across the country. Under the Act, eligible rural households will now have a statutory entitlement to 125 days of guaranteed wage employment.

• The Supreme Court today laid down guidelines on how courts should determine the annual income of deceased victims in motor accident or injured claimants on the basis of Income Tax Returns.

• The government issued a notice to Meta regarding the rollout of the username feature on WhatsApp in India. Sources said that the Ministry of Information and Technology directed Meta to furnish a detailed explanation on the usernames feature within three days.

• The two-day Human Resource Mobility Forum organised by the Ministry of External Affairs in New Delhi concluded in New Delhi. The Forum was inaugurated by External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar.

• Indian Council for Cultural Relations, ICCR will host a distinguished delegation of Hindi scholars comprising students and faculty from Dhaka University’s Institute of Modern Language for a nine-day visit beginning today.

• Prime Minister of Japan Sanae Takaichi arrived in New Delhi last evening on a three-day visit to India. Prime Minister Takaichi was received by Minister of State Dr Jitendra Singh. This is the first official visit of Prime Minister Takaichi to India.

• India and Malaysia reviewed entire spectrum of bilateral military cooperation during 12th Sub-Committee Meeting in New Delhi. Defence Ministry in a statement, said that the two sides reaffirmed shared commitment to peace, security and freedom of navigation in Indo-Pacific.

• India wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan has replaced teammate Abhishek Sharma as the world’s Number one T20 International batter in the latest ICC Player Rankings. Kishan attained a new career-best rating after the latest ICC rankings update released, following India’s 2-nil T20 International.

• In Football, Mexico defeated Ecuador 2-0 in the Round of 32 clash at the Mexico City Stadium to qualify for the Round of 16 of FIFA World Cup this morning. Raul Jimenez and Julian Quinones scored for Mexico. This marked Mexico’s first World Cup knockout stage win in 40 years.

• Hockey India has announced the 22-member Indian Junior (Under-21) Men’s Hockey Team for the upcoming exposure tour of Belgium, scheduled from 5th to 18th of July. The tour will be the team’s first assignment under newly appointed coach Frederic Soyez and will serve as a key preparatory phase.

• सरकार ने विदेश सचिव विक्रम मिसरी को अगले वर्ष 14 जुलाई तक एक वर्ष का विस्तार दिया। कैबिनेट की नियुक्ति समिति ने विदेश सचिव विक्रम मिसरी, जो 1989 के बैच आईएफएस अधिकारी हैं, की सेवा को इस वर्ष 14 जुलाई से आगे एक वर्ष के लिए बढ़ाने को मंजूरी दे दी।
• कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि संगठन, ईपीएफओ ने आधिकारिक तौर पर वित्तीय वर्ष 2025-26 के लिए ईपीएफ जमा पर 8.25 प्रतिशत ब्याज दर अधिसूचित की है। ये रेटिंग ईपीएफ योजना, 1952 के अनुसार श्रम एवं रोजगार मंत्रालय के अनुमोदन के बाद घोषित की गई हैं।
