- Mahabharata was originally known as Jaya.
- Maharishi Vedvyas was the first priest who recited the great Mahabharata; it is said that Lord Ganesha wrote the whole thing on the basis that Maharishi Vedvyas had to repeat continuously those verses which should be repeated without stopping even for a moment.
- Mahabharata was written in a cave in present-day Uttarakhand.
