International Migrant Day
In view of the increasing number of migrants in the world, the United Nations General Assembly announced to celebrate 18 December every year as ‘International Migrants Day।The purpose of this day is to educate people that treating every migrant with respect is one of the basic needs। The day aims to raise awareness about the challenges and difficulties faced by international migrants।
When a citizen of any country leaves his country and settles in another country in search of work, he is called a migrant। Like –, if an Indian citizen goes to America, Saudi or any other country and settles there, then he is called an NRI। There are some countries including America, China, Russia, Japan, where a large number of migrants from all over the world live।
अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रवासी दिवस
विश्व में प्रवासियों की बढ़ती संख्या के मद्देनजर संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा ने 18 दिसंबर को हर साल ‘अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रवासी दिवस’ के रूप में मनाने का एलान किया।इस दिन का उद्देश्य लोगों को इस बात के लिए शिक्षित करना है कि हर प्रवासी का सम्मान के साथ व्यवहार करना मूलभूत आवश्यकताओं में से एक है। यह दिन अंतरराष्ट्रीय प्रवासियों के सामने आने वाली चुनौतियों और कठिनाइयों के बारे में जागरूकता बढ़ाने का लक्ष्य रखता है।
किसी भी देश का नागरिक जब काम की तलाश में अपने देश को छोड़कर दूसरे देश में जाकर बस जाता है, तो उसे प्रवासी कहा जाता है। जैसे – यदि कोई भारतीय नागरिक अमेरिका, सऊदी या किसी और देश में जाकर वहां बस जाता है तो प्रवासी भारतीय कहा जाता है। अमेरिका, चीन, रूस, जापान समेत कुछ ऐसे देश हैं, जहां बड़ी संख्या में दुनिया भर से आए प्रवासी बसते हैं।
