The difference of 2-3 marks in exams between you and your peers doesn’t matter in life in the long run. Those who are dedicated will definitely achieve the best.

Tamil is the oldest language in the world:

The PM said, the country which has the world’s most ancient language, should be proud or not? Do you know that our Tamil language is the oldest language in the world? We have such a huge heritage. It is a matter of pride. People of North India eat dosa very comfortably. Poori sabzi is eaten with relish in the south. As easily as other things come, language should also come easily.

Learn more than one language: PM Modi

India is a country full of diversity. We have many languages. Communication is a great power. Just as we think that we should learn piano or tabla, similarly we should learn the language of any of our neighbouring states.

How to overcome stress after exams:

Learn to face the truth, we should give correct information to our parents about how was your exam. Should not misguide them by saying my exam was very good or I will do this, I will do that or I will get so many marks. No exam is final, we have to take a pledge to get rid of this tension.

Don’t become a slave to gadgets:

Nowadays children spend 6-7 hours using mobiles, this is ruining our young generation. We are becoming its slaves. We have a culture of fasting. Can we decide that we will do digital fasting for one day a week? Try it, you will like it and would want to increase the duration of digital fasting. We noticed family members sitting in the same room texting each other. This is a disease, we have to recognize this and work toward removing it.

Don’t get distracted by criticisms, it gives strength:

Criticism is a prerequisite for a flourishing democracy. This cannot be denied. People will point out your shortcomings which is a good thing for you so that you can improve them. It takes a lot of studies to criticize. You have to meet the teacher, you have to pay attention to your every activity, then it is understood where is the deficiency, but you feel interrupted when the family members talk. Modi told the parents not to compare their children with other children.

PM further explains hard work and smart work by citing an example of a mechanic

The Prime Minister said that once a person’s car broke down. He kept pushing for hours but the car would not start. He called a mechanic who fixed the car in 2 minutes and asked Rs.200. The person said how 200 rupees for 2 minutes work? The mechanic said that Rs 200 is not for 2 minutes but for 20 years of experience.

PM Modi recited the story of the Thirsty Crow who by putting pebbles one by one in the pot and drank water. He asked, what was that, hard work or smart work (he smiled).

He said no matter what, your hard work will never go down the drain. Some people do only hard work. some do smart work, some do nothing while students who will do hard work will achieve heights in their life.

Which is better Hard work or smart work, asks students

‘Ordinary people do extraordinary things’

When ordinary people do unusual things, they break the standards of Everest’s heights: PM Modi

During the exam what bothers me most is to start studying from where?

PM Modi: Give the first 30 minutes to the subject which interests you least and the last 30 minutes to the subject you like the most. Learn from your mother how she manages things while doing household work.
