• Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal met Senior Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Barbados Christopher Peter Sinckler in Yaoundé, Cameroon. The meeting was held on the sidelines of 14th Ministerial Conference of World Trade Organisation (WTO).

• The government has extended the Bharat Tribes Fest 2026 till the 5th of April, following an overwhelming public response. The Tribal Affairs Ministry informed that the decision aims to further strengthen market access and livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans, entrepreneurs, and Self-Help Groups.

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh Chairs GoM Meet on Energy Supply Risks Amid West Asia Conflict

• Amid the evolving situation in West Asia, the government said that adequate stocks of petrol and diesel are available at all petrol pumps across the country. In a statement, the government informed that on Friday, more than 54 Lakh LPG refills were delivered in the country.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, on Saturday and discussed the ongoing conflict in West Asia. Both leaders agreed on the need to ensure freedom of navigation and keeping shipping lines open and secure.

• Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has directed the Energy Ministry to prepare a resolution banning refined petrol exports starting April 1. Meanwhile, crude oil exports will continue unaffected.

• Ukraine and Qatar have signed a defence cooperation agreement during Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s visit to Doha, as both countries discussed regional tensions and ways to strengthen bilateral ties. Zelenskiy met Qatar’s Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at Lusail Palace on Saturday.

• Russia launched more than 270 drones in an overnight assault on Ukraine, killing five people. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the large-scale attack targeted Odesa, Kryvyi Rih, and the Poltava region.

• Iran said that it had targeted two US Army hideouts in Dubai as the conflict in West Asia continues. According to Iran’s state-run Fars News Agency, a spokesperson for the Central Headquarters of Hazrat Khatam al-Anbiya claimed that US military personnel had relocated to these sites.

• Following the arrest of UML party Chairman KP Sharma Oli, cadres of the CPN-UML have taken to the streets in anger in Kathmandu Valley. In protest of the Chairman’s arrest, the mass organizations affiliated with the UML began demonstrations by burning tires in front of the District Court.

• Three invaluable antiquities are set to return to India from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art following extensive provenance research confirming that they were illegally removed from the country. The objects include a 9th-century Shiva Nataraja bronze.

• On the fourth day of the first Khelo India Tribal Games, competitions in swimming, weightlifting, football and wrestling were held in Chhattisgarh. Karnataka continues to lead the medal tally with 15 gold medals. Odisha is in second place with nine gold medals, while Assam stands third.
