  • In Bangladesh, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Thursday night arrested a top-listed drug peddler with two kilograms of heroin close to the Indian border in Rajshahi district.
  • The Monetary Policy Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to reduce the Standing Deposit Facility Rate (SDFR) and the Standing Lending Facility Rate (SLFR) by 100 basis points.
  • Embassy of Afghanistan has announced permanent closure of its diplomatic mission in New Delhi.
  • In Ireland’s capital Dublin protesters clashed with the police yesterday following a brutal knife attack that injured five people, including three children.
  • In Netherlands, the far right populist leader Geert Wilders has registered a stunning victory in the elections. With nearly all votes counted, Wilders’ Party for Freedom (PVV) has won 37 seats out of 150 in the lower house of parliament.
  • The newly appointed Foreign Secretary of UK, David Cameron visited Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and President Issac Herzog at Tel Aviv, Isarel yesterday.

  • In Cricket, India beat Australia by two wickets in the first match of the five-match series of T20 Internationals at Visakhapatnam last night. Sent into bat first, Australia posted 208 runs for 3 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
  • In the China Masters Badminton tournament, Indian duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will take on Indonesia’s Leo Rolly Carnando and Daniel Marthin in the men’s doubles quarter-final today.
