• The Indian Air Force has launched the third edition of the Mehar Baba Competition-3 (MBC-3). The Ministry of Defence informed that the theme of MBC-3 is Collaborative Drone-Based Surveillance Radars. It also said that the competition aims to encourage innovation in advanced drone and radar technology.

• Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has released the second phase ranking of the DGCA Approved Flying Training Organizations (FTO). The first phase of the ranking framework was published on the 1st of October last year.

• The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hajipur, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Boehringer Ingelheim to Advance Pharmaceutical Research Collaboration in New Delhi.

• The Reserve Bank of India has cancelled the banking licence issued to Paytm Payments Bank Limited. In a statement, the RBI said the bank is prohibited to conduct any business from immediate effect. The apex bank has, however, clarified that Paytm Payments Bank Limited has enough liquidity to repay.

• The Securities and Exchange Board of India – SEBI has proposed a new framework for calculating the net worth requirement for stockbrokers

• In a big jolt to Aam Aadmi Party, more than two-third of the AAP MPs in the Rajya Sabha have quit the party and merged with the BJP. Of them, three Rajya Sabha MPs, Raghav Chadha, Sandeep Pathak and Ashok Mittal, visited the BJP Headquarters and met BJP President Nitin Nabin.

• The Supreme Court has ruled that no court can compel a woman, especially a minor, to carry a pregnancy against her will. A Bench of Justices B V Nagarathna and Ujjal Bhuyan permitted a 15-year-old girl to medically terminate her over seven-month pregnancy.

• India emerged as Sri Lanka’s fastest-growing major export destination in the first quarter of 2026, with shipments rising 12.02% year-on-year to $287.49 million, underscoring a growing regional trade pivot.

• Commander, Pacific Air Forces and Air Component Commander, US Indo-Pacific Command General Kevin B Schneider called on Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh in New Delhi. In a social media post, the Defence Ministry said that the discussions focused on advancing defence initiatives.

• The United States said that its expanding naval blockade of Iran was tightening by the hour. Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth said Tehran now faces a stark choice. He said Iran must either accept a nuclear deal or face mounting economic collapse under sustained U.S. pressure.

• An Indian delegation visited Washington, D.C. from 20th to 23rd of this month for advancing talks on a proposed Bilateral Trade Agreement with the United States.

• India has approved the first withdrawal of 30 billion rupees for the Maldives under the SAARC Currency Swap Framework, reinforcing its ongoing financial support to the island nation. The Indian High Commission in Male said the funds are being released as part of the first drawdown under the framework.
