National Updates
- The government has approved the continuation of the integrated Pradhan Mantri Annadata Aay Sanrakshan Abhiyan – PM-AASHA Scheme during the 15th Finance Commission Cycle up to 2025-26.
- The Rural Development Ministry has dismissed the claims of two recruitment drives being conducted by the National Rural Development & Recreation Mission (NRDRM). The Ministry, in a statement said the NRDRM office does not work under the Ministry’s purview.
- India’s Fourth-Generation Deep-Ocean Submersible ‘Matsya-6000’ has successfully completed wet testing at the harbour, paving the way for conducting shallow-water demonstrations at depths reaching up to 500 meters by the end of 2025.
- The Central Board of Secondary Education- CBSE has refuted claims related to paper leaks of the 2025 board examination’s question papers and access to them, being circulated on social media platforms.
- Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the National Geospatial Knowledge-based Land Survey of Urban Habitations (NAKSHA) in 152 urban local bodies across 26 States and three Union Territories in Madhya Pradesh today.

- Gulfood 2025, one of the world’s largest food and beverage trade exhibitions, has commenced at the Dubai World Trade Centre, featuring over 5,500 exhibitors from 129 countries. Spanning 24 halls and 1.3 million square feet, the event highlights more than one million products.
- A statue of noted Tamil poet and philosopher Thiruvalluvar has been unveiled in the Philippines. An official statement said, it was unveiled at the Gullas College of Medicine in Cebu.
- An eight-member committee has been formed to investigate the balloon explosion incident that took place during the inaugural ceremony of the ‘Pokhara Visit Year 2025’ held in Pokhara, Nepal.
- The United Nations (UN) has launched a six billion dollar humanitarian appeal to assist nearly 26 million Sudanese affected by the ongoing conflict, both inside Sudan and in neighbouring countries.
- President Anura Kumara Dissanayake unveiled Sri Lanka’s Budget 2025, focusing on economic recovery, fiscal discipline, and social welfare. The government targets a 5% GDP growth rate, aiming to stabilize the economy after the 2022 financial crisis.
- China criticized Canada for sailing a warship that passed through the Taiwan Strait. A Chinese military spokesperson accused Canada of stirring up trouble and undermining peace, and warned that China will counter any threats in the region.
- The Ukrainian military has said that Russian forces launched 147 drones during an overnight attack. It said Ukraine’s air force shot down 83 of the 147 drones, while 59 drones did not reach their targets.
