National Updates

  • India, China agrees to be sensitive towards each other’s core concerns during PM Modi and President Xi Jinping meeting.

  • The Finance Ministry clarified that there will be no charges at all for person-to-person (P2P) UPI transactions, irrespective of the amount transferred.

  • Chief Ministers of Six States signed the Kishau Multipurpose Dam Project agreement for the rejuvenation of the Yamuna River. These States are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi. The agreement was signed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

  • Compelling a rape survivor to continue with a pregnancy resulting from the crime and fastening the responsibility of motherhood on her against her will would amount to a serious impairment of her right to live with dignity, the Delhi High Court has held.

  • The Supreme Court asked the Centre to consider extending the tenure of retiring presiding officers and members of quasi-judicial bodies for a month or so till fresh appointments are made. The move comes after the top court observed that tribunals should not become defunct due to vacancies.

International Updates

  • The conflict in West Asia is putting growing pressure on Saudi Arabia and key regional shipping routes, with fresh alerts, attacks and military exchanges reported. In Saudi Arabia, Civil Defence issued very brief emergency alerts in Makkah, Jeddah and Taif, but the warnings were lifted.

  • A US federal judge has temporarily blocked a new Trump administration rule imposing stricter limits on the duration of stay for foreign students and journalists in the United States. The ruling, delivered by a district judge in Massachusetts, is expected to provide relief to international students.

  • In Bangladesh, the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 convicted and sentenced seven people, including Awami League (AL) General Secretary and former minister Obaidul Quader, to death in a case of crimes against humanity over killings during the July uprising in Dhaka.

  • In Bangladesh, the Election Commission (EC) has decided to hold Union Parishad (UP) elections across the country in seven phases, with the first phase likely to be held on November 12. Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd.) Abul Fazal Md. Sanaullah disclosed the information.

भारत, चीन पीएम मोदी और राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग की बैठक के दौरान एक-दूसरे की मुख्य चिंताओं के प्रति संवेदनशील होने पर सहमत हुए।
• वित्त मंत्रालय ने स्पष्ट किया कि व्यक्ति-से-व्यक्ति (पी2पी) यूपीआई लेनदेन के लिए कोई शुल्क नहीं लिया जाएगा, चाहे हस्तांतरित राशि कुछ भी हो।
• छह राज्यों के मुख्यमंत्रियों ने यमुना नदी के पुनरुद्धार के लिए किशाउ बहुउद्देशीय बांध परियोजना समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए। ये राज्य उत्तर प्रदेश, उत्तराखंड, हिमाचल प्रदेश, हरियाणा, राजस्थान और दिल्ली हैं। इस समझौते पर केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह की उपस्थिति में हस्ताक्षर किए गए।
• दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने कहा है कि बलात्कार पीड़िता को अपराध के परिणामस्वरूप गर्भधारण जारी रखने के लिए मजबूर करना तथा उसकी इच्छा के विरुद्ध मातृत्व की जिम्मेदारी उस पर डालना, उसके सम्मान के साथ जीने के अधिकार का गंभीर हनन होगा।
• सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने केंद्र से नई नियुक्तियां होने तक सेवानिवृत्त पीठासीन अधिकारियों और अर्ध-न्यायिक निकायों के सदस्यों के कार्यकाल को एक या दो महीने के लिए बढ़ाने पर विचार करने को कहा। यह कदम शीर्ष अदालत की इस टिप्पणी के बाद आया है कि न्यायाधिकरणों को रिक्तियों के कारण निष्क्रिय नहीं होना चाहिए।

पश्चिम एशिया में संघर्ष के कारण सऊदी अरब और प्रमुख क्षेत्रीय शिपिंग मार्गों पर दबाव बढ़ रहा है, तथा नए अलर्ट, हमले और सैन्य आदान-प्रदान की खबरें आ रही हैं। सऊदी अरब में, नागरिक सुरक्षा ने मक्का, जेद्दा और ताइफ़ में बहुत संक्षिप्त आपातकालीन अलर्ट जारी किए, लेकिन चेतावनियाँ हटा ली गईं।
• एक अमेरिकी संघीय न्यायाधीश ने ट्रम्प प्रशासन के नए नियम को अस्थायी रूप से अवरुद्ध कर दिया है, जिसके तहत विदेशी छात्रों और पत्रकारों के लिए अमेरिका में रहने की अवधि पर सख्त सीमाएं लगाई गई हैं। मैसाचुसेट्स के एक जिला न्यायाधीश द्वारा दिए गए इस फैसले से अंतर्राष्ट्रीय छात्रों को राहत मिलने की उम्मीद है।
• बांग्लादेश में, अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अपराध न्यायाधिकरण (आईसीटी)-2 ने ढाका में जुलाई में हुए विद्रोह के दौरान हत्याओं को लेकर मानवता के विरुद्ध अपराध के एक मामले में अवामी लीग (एएल) के महासचिव और पूर्व मंत्री ओबैदुल कादर सहित सात लोगों को दोषी ठहराया और मौत की सजा सुनाई।
• बांग्लादेश में चुनाव आयोग (ईसी) ने देश भर में सात चरणों में संघ परिषद (यूपी) चुनाव कराने का फैसला किया है, जिसका पहला चरण १२ नवंबर को होने की संभावना है। चुनाव आयुक्त ब्रिगेडियर जनरल (सेवानिवृत्त) अबुल फजल मोहम्मद सनाउल्लाह ने जानकारी का खुलासा किया।
