• The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is all set to get underway in New Delhi today. The five-day Summit will be the first-ever global AI summit to be hosted in the Global South. World leaders from 20 nations are scheduled to attend the event.

• External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar held a conversation with the Chairman of Munich Security Conference, Wolfgang Ischinger, in Germany. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar said the Munich Security Conference 2026 provided a good opportunity to present views and exchange perspectives.

• HM Amit Shah launches country’s first, Central Bank’s digital currency to bring transparency in delivery mechanism.

• The Centre has approved the construction of the country’s first underwater twin tube road-cum-rail tunnel project that will be built under the Brahmaputra River in Assam.

• The 3rd International AYUSH Conference and Exhibition 2026 opened at the Dubai World Trade Centre . The three-day event, which runs until February 17, seeks to highlight ancient medical traditions and their contemporary applications.

• Indonesia’s military said up to 8,000 troops could be ready by the end of June for possible deployment to Gaza under U.S. President Donald Trump’s postwar reconstruction plan, though a final political decision has yet to be made.

• US military has boarded another oil tanker in the Indian Ocean after tracking it from the Caribbean Sea. In a social media post, the Pentagon said that the ship, Veronica III, is linked to illegal oil shipments connected to Venezuela.

• Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will represent India at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected government of Bangladesh led by Bangladesh Nationalist Party chairman Tarique Rahman in Dhaka on 17 Feb.

• Pakistan crumbled against India in their T20 World Cup game at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, losing by 61 runs. India extended their dominance over arch-rivals Pakistan to 8-1 in T20 World Cups as they bowled out Pakistan for 114 runs in 18 overs.
