Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the National Day celebrations of Mauritius as the Chief Guest at Champ de Mars, Mauritius. During the ceremony, the President of Mauritius, Dharambeer Gokhool, conferred the Grand Commander of the Order of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean on Mr Modi.

The Parliament has passed the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill, 2024 with the Lok Sabha approving it. The Bill seeks to amend the Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act, 1948.

The Centre has said that around one lakh 65 thousand post offices are operational in the country. Of which around 16 thousand post offices are functioning in urban areas and more than one lakh 49 thousand post offices are functioning in rural areas.

• भारत और मॉरीशस ने अपने संबंधों को ‘उन्नत रणनीतिक साझेदारी’ तक बढ़ाया और समुद्री सुरक्षा सहित कई क्षेत्रों में सहयोग को बढ़ावा देने और स्थानीय मुद्राओं में व्यापार को बढ़ावा देने के लिए आठ समझौते किए।
• भारतीय जनता पार्टी ने हरियाणा के विभिन्न नगर निगमों, नगर परिषदों और नगर पालिकाओं के मेयर, अध्यक्ष और वार्ड सदस्यों के चुनाव में बड़ी जीत दर्ज की। भाजपा ने गुरुग्राम और रोहतक सहित दस मेयर पदों में से नौ के लिए चुनाव जीता।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी मॉरीशस के राष्ट्रीय दिवस समारोह में मॉरीशस के चैंप डे मार्स में मुख्य अतिथि के रूप में शामिल हुए। समारोह के दौरान मॉरीशस के राष्ट्रपति धरमबीर गोखूल ने श्री मोदी को ग्रैंड कमांडर ऑफ द ऑर्डर ऑफ द स्टार एंड की ऑफ द इंडियन ओशन से सम्मानित किया।
• संसद ने ऑयलफील्ड्स (विनियमन और विकास) संशोधन विधेयक, २०२४ पारित कर दिया है और लोकसभा ने इसे मंजूरी दे दी है। यह विधेयक ऑयलफील्ड्स (विनियमन और विकास) अधिनियम, १९४८ में संशोधन करना चाहता है।
• केंद्र ने कहा है कि देश में करीब एक लाख ६५ हजार डाकघर चालू हैं। जिनमें से लगभग १६ हजार डाकघर शहरी क्षेत्रों में और एक लाख ४९ हजार से अधिक डाकघर ग्रामीण क्षेत्रों में काम कर रहे हैं।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपनी दो दिवसीय आधिकारिक यात्रा के तहत मॉरीशस के अपने समकक्ष नवीन रामगुलाम के साथ प्रतिनिधिमंडल स्तर की वार्ता की। यात्रा के दूसरे दिन भारत और मॉरीशस के बीच कई समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर हुए।
• पीएमजेवीके के कार्यान्वयन और प्रगति का आकलन करने के लिए सचिव डॉ चंद्र शेखर कुमार की अध्यक्षता में अल्पसंख्यक मामलों के मंत्रालय द्वारा एक राष्ट्रीय समीक्षा बैठक आयोजित की गई।

• बांग्लादेश में यूनिसेफ के प्रतिनिधि राणा फ्लावर्स ने मंगलवार को जिनेवा में एक प्रेस ब्रीफिंग के दौरान कहा कि दुनिया के सबसे बड़े शरणार्थी शिविर में बच्चे 2017 में हुए बड़े पैमाने पर विस्थापन के बाद से कुपोषण के सबसे खराब स्तर का अनुभव कर रहे हैं।
