• The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) has successfully flight-tested the third-generation Fire & Forget Man Portable Anti-Tank Guided Missile, or MPATGM, with top attack capability against a moving target.

• India’s electric vehicle market accounted for 8 per cent of all new vehicle registrations in 2025, with total EV sales reaching 23 lakh units. According to Vahan Portal data, electric two‑wheelers led the EV growth with sales of 12 lakh 80 thousand units, touching 57 per cent of EV sales.

• The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has extended its citizen-centric initiative, the ‘Clean Toilet Picture Challenge’, till 30th June this year. The initiative aims to further enhance cleanliness and user experience at toilet facilities along the National Highways.

• The Union Budget 2026-27 will be presented on the 1st of February in the Lok Sabha. The Budget Session of Parliament will commence from the 28th of this month and will continue till the 2nd of April.

• US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor said that India and the U.S. are actively engaged for the ongoing trade deal negotiations. He said the next talk on trade will be held today.

• Renewable energy jobs recorded their first clear slowdown in growth even as global installations reached a new peak, according to a new report by the International Renewable Energy Agency and the International Labour Organisation.

• Veteran Bangladeshi singer and Awami League leader Prolay Chaki has died while in custody, sparking allegations of negligence and denial of medical care by his family. Chaki, a popular singer of the 1980s who regularly performed on Bangladesh Television (BTV) alongside his brother Moloy Chaki.

• The Central Government has notified the National Sports Governance (National Sports Bodies) Rules, 2026, under the National Sports Governance Act, 2025. • 2025 में सभी नए वाहन पंजीकरणों में भारत के इलेक्ट्रिक वाहन बाजार का हिस्सा 8 प्रतिशत होगा, जिसमें कुल ईवी बिक्री 23 लाख इकाइयों तक पहुंच जाएगी। वाहन पोर्टल के आंकड़ों के अनुसार, इलेक्ट्रिक दोपहिया वाहनों ने 12 लाख 80 हजार इकाइयों की बिक्री के साथ ईवी वृद्धि का नेतृत्व किया, जो ईवी बिक्री का 57 प्रतिशत था।
