National Updates

•   Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions has said that a total of 1.30 crore Digital Life Certificates, DLCs were generated during the DLC Campaign 3.0 which concluded on Saturday. The campaign was launched on the 1st of last month to simplify digital life certificate submissions
• The International Conference on Nature-Based Solutions (NbS) for Sustainability & Climate Change was inaugurated by Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh, in the presence of the Minister of State for Textiles, Pabitra Margherita on Sunday.
• Coal Ministry has achieved a milestone in November, with overall coal production reaching 90.62 million tonnes compared to 84.52 MT in the same month last year. This marks a 7.20 percent growth in coal production.
• The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, in collaboration with the Media and Entertainment Association of India (MEAI), hosted the WAVES Anime and Manga Contest (WAM) in New Delhi on Saturday. The event saw the participation of nearly 199 participants across categories.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished the people of Nagaland on their statehood day. In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi said that Nagaland is widely admired for its rich culture and the wonderful nature of people belonging to the state.
• The South-Central Railway (SCR) has set up mechanised laundries at seven locations, including the Secunderabad departmental laundry with 2 tons -a-day capacity, and the Kacheguda BOOT laundry with 12 tons a day capacity, to provide clean linen for passengers.
• EAM S Jaishankar expresses grief over murder of Indian student in USA
• The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert over Tamil Nadu today due to the Cyclonic Storm Fengal. The IMD said the cyclone will move west-southwestwards slowly and weaken gradually.

• US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated New York real estate developer Charles Kushner as his ambassador to France. In a social media post, Mr. Trump praised Kushner as a skilled business leader and philanthropist.
• In Bangladesh, business leaders have expressed concerns over the failure of the interim government to tackle the country’s law and order situation.
• US President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Indian-American Kash Patel to lead the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

• Arjun Erigaisi has become the second Indian in history to reach the prestigious 2800 Elo rating in classical chess. With the remarkable feat, the 21-year-old has joined the legendary Viswanathan Anand in this exclusive club.
• In the World Chess Championship, another match between Indian Grandmaster D. Gukesh and defending champion Ding Liren of China ended in a draw after the players decided to end the sixth round game through threefold repetition in Singapore on Sunday.
• The outgoing BCCI secretary Jay Shah took charge as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Sunday, becoming the fifth Indian to head the global body.
• Ace Indian Shuttlers PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen were crowned the Singles champions at the Syed Modi International Tournament in Lucknow on Sunday
• The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team thrashed Chinese Taipei 16-0 in their Pool A match at the Men’s Junior Asia Cup in Muscat, Oman, yesterday. Dilraj Singh scored four goals while Rosan Kujur hit hattricks.
