- Over 1.08 crore devotees today took a holy dip in the sacred Sangam during the Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj till 6 the previous evening. So far, over 56.64 crore devotees have bathed in the holy waters.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the first edition of the SOUL Leadership Conclave on 21st February at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. Bhutan Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay will deliver the keynote address as the Guest of Honor.
- The 9th Asia Economic Dialogue is being organised from today in Pune, Maharashtra. The Asia Economic Dialogue is External Affairs Ministry’s annual flagship ‘Track 1.5 Dialogue’ on Geoeconomics. The three-day Dialogue is being co-hosted in collaboration with Pune International Centre.
- Rekha Gupta will be the new Chief Minister of Delhi. The name was announced after Delhi BJP legislative party meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday evening. Rekha Gupta met Delhi LG VK Saxena in Raj Niwas later and staked claim to forming the new government.
- India and Argentina signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation in Lithium exploration and mining on Wednesday. The agreement was signed during a meeting held by Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy with Governor of Catamarca, Argentina Raúl Alejandro Jalil in New Delhi.
- India has been elected to the Vice Presidency of the International Association of Aids to Marine Navigation (IALA) at the ongoing first General Assembly of IALA in Singapore. The Indian delegation is being led by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways Secretary, T.K. Ramachandran.
- The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) refuted the claims regarding the change of FASTag rules declining transactions, as reported by some media publications.
- Goa Shipyard Ltd (GSL), one of India’s premier defense shipbuilding yards, is showcasing its indigenously designed Fast Patrol Vessels (FPVs) and Offshore Patrol Vessels (OPVs) at NAVDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi.

- Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday expressed concerns that doubts are growing among people regarding the interim government’s sincerity in holding the national election without unnecessary delays.
- Italian prosecutors said they will seek to drop a tax evasion investigation against Google after the tech giant agreed to pay a 326 million Euro settlement. Milan prosecutors had opened an investigation against Google for failure to pay taxes on earnings in Italy from 2015-2019.
- US President Donald Trump took his toughest stance yet against Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Mr. Trump blamed Zelenskyy for the ongoing Ukraine war calling him a grossly incompetent leader and a poor negotiator.
- Sri Lanka’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Vijitha Herath has highlighted the importance of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) towards promoting peace, stability and sustainable development in the Indian Ocean Region.
- Mexico has relaunched its “Made in Mexico” brand campaign, in response to US President Donald Trump’s announcement of a 25 percent tariff on Mexican imports. The campaign is aimed at boosting national production of Mexico and mitigating the economic impact of the tariffs.
- The Palestinian armed group Hamas has proposed exchanging all Israeli captives and Palestinian prisoners in one go during the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire deal.
