In Afghanistan, at least 812 people have been killed and 2,817 injured in the deadliest earthquake since 2015. According to the government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the eastern province of Kunar is the worst affected, followed by Nangarhar, Laghman, Nuristan and Panjshir.

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने शंघाई सहयोग संगठन (एससीओ) के सदस्य देशों से आतंकवाद के सभी रूपों के विरुद्ध निर्णायक कार्रवाई करने का आह्वान किया। चीन के तियानजिन में एससीओ शिखर सम्मेलन को संबोधित करते हुए श्री मोदी ने इस बात पर जोर दिया कि आतंकवाद से निपटने में दोहरे मापदंड नहीं अपनाए जाने चाहिए।
• केंद्रीय कृषि एवं किसान’ कल्याण मंत्री शिवराज सिंह ने अधिकारियों को किसानों की शिकायतों के लिए एक समर्पित पोर्टल विकसित करने का निर्देश दिया है ताकि उनके मुद्दों का समय पर और प्रभावी समाधान सुनिश्चित किया जा सके।

• सरकार ने कहा कि अपनी 8 वर्षों की सेवाओं में, इंडिया पोस्ट पेमेंट्स बैंक (आईपीपीबी) ने 12 करोड़ से अधिक ग्राहकों को शामिल किया है, अरबों डिजिटल लेनदेन संसाधित किए हैं और देश भर में डोरस्टेप बैंकिंग सेवाओं को सक्षम किया है।

• श्रीलंका के राष्ट्रपति अनुरा कुमारा दिसानायके ने मंडाईतिवु द्वीप पर जाफना अंतर्राष्ट्रीय क्रिकेट स्टेडियम के निर्माण का उद्घाटन किया और इसे खेल के माध्यम से राष्ट्रीय एकता को मजबूत करने की एक ऐतिहासिक पहल बताया।
• रूसी राष्ट्रपति व्लादिमीर पुतिन ने कहा कि वह अमेरिका के साथ महत्वपूर्ण समझौते पर पहुंच गए हैं। राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प ने पिछले महीने अलास्का में एक बैठक के दौरान यूक्रेन संघर्ष को समाप्त करने पर बात की थी। चीन में एससीओ शिखर सम्मेलन में बोलते हुए पुतिन ने यह पुष्टि करने से परहेज किया कि वह यूक्रेनी समकक्ष के साथ शांति वार्ता में शामिल होंगे या नहीं।
• अफगानिस्तान में 2015 के बाद से आए सबसे घातक भूकंप में कम से कम 812 लोग मारे गए हैं और 2,817 घायल हुए हैं। सरकारी प्रवक्ता जबीहुल्लाह मुजाहिद के अनुसार, पूर्वी प्रांत कुनार सबसे अधिक प्रभावित है, इसके बाद नांगरहार, लघमन, नूरिस्तान और पंजशीर हैं।
• यूरोपीय आयोग की अध्यक्ष उर्सुला वॉन डेर लेयेन ने कहा है कि यूक्रेन में बहुराष्ट्रीय सेना की तैनाती के लिए विस्तृत योजनाएँ विकसित की जा रही हैं।
