CUET Exam

The Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is a standardized test conducted in India to determine the eligibility of students for admission into various undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered by universities. It is designed to evaluate the academic abilities and aptitudes of students who aspire to pursue higher education in a particular field. CUET is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and is conducted annually.

Exam Format

CUET is a computer-based exam that consists of multiple-choice questions. The exam is divided into following parts:.

Section I A (Languages) There are 13 different languages 40 Questions to be attempted out of 50 questions in each language Language to be tested through Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension (based on different types of passages Factual, Literary, and Narrative) 45 minutes for each language
Section I B (Languages) There are 20 languages apart from Section I A
Section II – Domain There are 27 Domains specific subjects. A candidate may choose a maximum of 6 domain subjects 40 Questions to be attempted out of 50 MCQs based on Class XIIth NCERTs 45 Minutes for each Domain Specific Subject
Section III – General Test Optional (check specific programme guidelines of the university) 60 Questions to be attempted out of 75 MCQ Based Questions on General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Quantitative Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning 60 Minutes

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the CUET, the candidate must have completed 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized board. There is no upper age limit.

Application Process

Candidates can apply for CUET online through the NTA website. The application fee is Rs. 750 for General/OBC candidates and Rs. 650 for SC/ST/PWD candidates (for choosing up to 3 domain subjects). The application process typically begins in February and closes in March.

The results of CUET are typically released within a few weeks of the exam. Candidates who meet the cutoff criteria are called for counseling, where they have to appear in person for document verification and seat allotment.
