Kinds of Sentences (वाक्य के प्रकार)

Word order (शब्द-क्रम) के अनुसार वाक्य मुख्यतः चार प्रकार के होते हैं-

  1. Statement
  2. Question
  3. Command
  4. Exclamation

लेकिन Structure के आधार पर Sentence 3 प्रकार के होते हैं-

1. Simple Sentence (साधारण वाक्य)

2. Compound Sentence (मिश्रित वाक्य)

3. Complex Sentences (मिश्रित वाक्य)-

Type of Sentences with Example in Hindi

1. Simple Sentence (साधारण वाक्य)-A sentence is called a simple sentence when it has only one subject and one predicate or a sentence that has one finite verb.

साधारण वाक्य उसे कहते हैं जिसमें एक ही subject व एक ही predicate (विधव) हो या ऐसा sentence जिसमें केवल एक ही finite verb का प्रयोग किया गया हो, जैसे

 

  1. Sushma speaks clearly.
  2. He could not forget her.

 

2. Compound Sentence (मिश्रित वाक्य)- A sentence which is made of Principal or Main clauses is called a Compound Sentence.

ऐसा वाक्य जिसमें दो या दो से अधिक स्वतन्त्र Clauses होते हैं अर्थात् एक तो Principal Clause होता है तथा एक या एक से अधिक Co-ordinate Clauses होते हैं, जैसे

 

  1. You should give up drinking or you will ruin your health.
  2. The guard waved the green flag and the train started.

 

3. Complex Sentences (मिश्रित वाक्य)-A complex sentence is composed of one or two principal clauses and other subordinate clauses.

मिश्रित वाक्य वह होते हैं जिनमें एक या दो Principal Clauses और दूसर। Subordinate clauses होते हैं, जैसे

 

  1. This is the place where I was born.
  2. She said that she would pass.

 

इन वाक्यों में, This is the place व She said, Principal Clauses हैं परन्तु where I was born, that she would pass, Sub-ordinate Clauses हैं |

A Subordinate clause is introduced by some Subordinate conjunction, relative pronoun, or relative adverb.

यह Clause स्वतन्त्र रूप से पूर्ण अर्थ नहीं देता है अपितु अपने अर्थ को स्पष्ट करने के लिए Principal Clause पर निर्भर रहता है।

The subordinate clause, subordinate conjunction (or, either, neither, nor) Relative Pronoun (who, whose, whom), Relative Adverb (where, how) À प्रारंभ होते हैं।
