International Anti-Corruption Day
Corruption is like a termite which is hollowing out our society, our economy and the entire country as a whole। This is a big obstacle in the development of society and country। Almost every country in the world is suffering from this problem। It is with this in mind that the resolution was passed at the United Nations Conference against Corruption on October 31, 2003। International Anti-Corruption Day has been observed every year since then on 9 December। Its main objective is to create awareness among the people about corruption।
What is corruption ?
First of all it is important to understand what corruption is। In simple words, corruption means unfair advantage given for doing some legitimate or illegitimate work। This benefit can be in financial form which is called bribe or in some other way also।
अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भ्रष्टाचार निरोधक दिवस
भ्रष्टाचार एक दीमक की तरह है जो हमारे समाज को, हमारी अर्थव्यवस्था को और कुल मिलाकर पूरे देश को खोखला कर रहा है। यह समाज और देश के विकास में बड़ी बाधा है। दुनिया का लगभग देश इस समस्या से ग्रसित है। इसी को ध्यान में रखते हुए 31 अक्टूबर, 2003 को भ्रष्टाचार के खिलाफ संयुक्त राष्ट्र के सम्मेलन में प्रस्ताव पारित हुआ था। उसके बाद से हर साल 9 दिसंबर को अंतरराष्ट्रीय भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी दिवस मनाया जाता है। इसका मुख्य रूप से मकसद भ्रष्टाचार के बारे में लोगों के बीच जागरूकता पैदा करना है।
भ्रष्टाचार क्या है ?
सबसे पहले यह समझना जरूरी है कि भ्रष्टाचार है क्या। आम शब्दों में कहें तो भ्रष्टाचार का मतलब है कि किसी जायज या नाजायज काम को करने के लिए दिया जाने वाला अनुचित लाभ। यह लाभ आर्थिक रूप में हो सकता है जिसे रिश्वत कहते हैं या किसी और तरह से भी हो सकता है।
