Do you know 90 % of people eat fruits in the wrong way?

Fruits are among the most nutritious foods on the planet, no matter what your fitness goal is, fruits should always be a part of your daily meal. But only because fruits are beneficial and healthy for the human body, do people think they can consume fruits whenever and however they want. But the reality is different. There are the proper ways to eat fruits and not following them can give you more harm than good. Due to this, not only do you get incomplete nutrition but also It leads to skin allergies, liver problems, greying hair, hair fall and digestion problems. This is the reason that even after eating the healthiest fruits, you do not get their benefits. This is the reason even after consuming fruits on a daily basis, people face vitamin deficiency and have to spend on multivitamin supplements. In this article, I will share 6 reasons you are eating fruits the wrong way and how to fix them. It will give you an exact idea about when, how and what fruit to eat so that you can get the maximum benefit out of it.

1. Eating fruits after meal
2. Cutting and storing fruits
3. Not eating local fruits
4. Drinking fruit juices
5. Combining fruits with milk
6. Eating fruits at night

1. Eating fruits after meal
Everyone searches for a sweet after taking a meal but when you are health conscious, you go for a sweet fruit instead of any artificial sweet. It seems healthy but it is the wrong time to consume a fruit because fruits take less time to digest in comparison to our meal. It leads to the fermentation of fruits and results in bloating.
2. Cutting and storing fruits
In today’s fast life, we want to eat meals or fruits in the small breaks from work and for it, we cut the fruit, store it in the refrigerator and carry it to the workplace the next morning. It seems healthy because we are not eating anything unhealthy outside but did you know that eating fruits long after cutting them takes almost all nutrients away from them? Yes, fruit when cut, should be consumed within 20 minutes or else they start losing their nutritional value. Refrigerated fruit can also lead to acidity in the body which causes skin issues, greying hair and even hair fall. Yes, it is great to choose fruits as a snack option but make sure you do not cut it long before consuming.
3. Not eating local fruits
Exotic fruits are very trendy and popular. Nowadays Indian supermarkets are full of kiwis, berries, and avocados which when wrapped travel the seven seas to reach the shelf. People are switching to foreign fruits and ditching the local fruits, thinking that foreign fruit can do magical effects on their bodies and can provide them extra nutrition. This is what intensive marketing does. However, the reality is quite the opposite. There is a reason why only certain fruits grow in a particular region and a particular climatic condition. Fruits which are local, ripe and eaten in the proper season are the best for your body. The absorption of nutrients in the body from local fruits is much higher than the exotic fruits. No doubt kiwis or berries are very nutritious but it is for the local area people. So you need not anybody to ask what fruit to eat, whatever is in the season, just eat it.
4. Drinking fruit juices
Do you prefer drinking juice instead of eating whole fruit? Well, drinking fruit juices is okay but eating fruits is more beneficial as fruits lose their fibres during the process. As we all know how dietary fibres are very necessary for our body as they are responsible for proper digestion and smooth bowel moments. So by drinking juice, you are missing out on the most nutritious constituent of the fruits. Secondly, since fruits are high in sugar and people who want to lose fat should eat whole fruits. Dietary fibres ensure a slow release of sugar in the body and do not spike blood insulin levels. One more thing that we are unaware of is that when we crush the fruit in the mixer, the heat produced during the process can destroy some of the nutrients and minerals present in the fruit. So you can drink fruit juice sometimes but mostly prefer eating the whole fruit. Avoid taking packed fruit juices which are not in pure form and lead to damage instead of good in the body as they are loaded with preservatives, artificial sugar and flavours.
5. Combining fruits with milk
When you are health conscious, you prefer taking fruits with milk instead of harmful oily snacks but the combination of fruits and milk is prohibited in our ancient scriptures. Sour fruits that contain vitamin C are strictly avoided to combine with milk because combining them with milk leads to skin problems, impure blood, hair problems or liver problems. Only extra sweet fruits can be combined with milk like ripped bananas, ripped mango or dates.
6. Eating fruits at night
People think that because fruits are healthy, they can be consumed any time of the day. Well, it is not true, it is advised not to eat fruits post-sunset time as after sunset body’s ability to assimilate the nutrients from fruits diminishes and also can lead to weight gain. Eating fruits at night can also lead to acidity or disturbed sleep cycle so make a habit to eat fruits before 6 PM.
So these are some common mistakes that people make while eating fruits. Now let us be clear on how, when and what fruit to eat to get the maximum benefit out of them.

When to consume fruits?
Fruits should consume fruits in the morning on an empty stomach. It is the best time for the human body to absorb nutrients from the fruits. If you start eating fruits with an empty stomach it will play a major role in detoxifying your body naturally. Make sure you keep at least a 2-hour of gap between eating fruits and taking meals.
How to eat fruits?
As mentioned before, if you want the best out of the fruits just eat them instead of drinking juices. If you need to drink juice sometimes, just make sure you drink it slowly sip by sip to ensure proper mixing of saliva into it. It will help you to promote digestion.
What fruit to eat?
Just make it a rule that the fruit which is local, fully ripped and in season is the best for your body. Do not go for exotic fruits, local fruits are best for your body. By doing this, you not only get more nutrients but also you can enjoy a variety of fruits throughout the year.
