National Updates

• Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada inaugurated the new unified headquarters of the Quality Council of India (QCI) at the World Trade Centre in New Delhi .

• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the increase in the Minimum Support Prices, MSP for fourteen Kharif crops for Marketing Season 2025-26.

• The government has issued a Gazette Notification for Rules under Inter-Services Organisations (Command, Control and Discipline) Act 2023 for enabling greater jointness and Command efficiency in Armed Forces.

• A Civil defence mock drill will be conducted today in districts bordering Pakistan. The exercise will take place in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Jammu and Kashmir. During the drill, officials will provide demonstrations and training sessions to equip participants with the necessary skills.

• The Supreme Court collegium has recommended the transfer of the Chief Justices of Rajasthan, Tripura, Jharkhand and Madras High Court. The collegium was headed by Chief Justice of India B R Gavai.

• Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri met United States Under Secretary Jeffrey Kessler to advance cooperation in critical and emerging technologies. The two also discussed the early convening of the India-US Strategic Trade Dialogue.

• वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग राज्य मंत्री जितिन प्रसाद ने नई दिल्ली स्थित विश्व व्यापार केंद्र में भारतीय गुणवत्ता परिषद (क्यूसीआई) के नए एकीकृत मुख्यालय का उद्घाटन किया।
• आर्थिक मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति ने मार्केटिंग सीजन 2025-26 के लिए चौदह खरीफ फसलों के लिए न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य, एमएसपी में वृद्धि को मंजूरी दे दी है।
• सरकार ने सशस्त्र बलों में अधिक संयुक्तता और कमान दक्षता को सक्षम करने के लिए अंतर-सेवा संगठन (कमांड, नियंत्रण और अनुशासन) अधिनियम 2023 के तहत नियमों के लिए एक राजपत्र अधिसूचना जारी की है।
• पाकिस्तान की सीमा से लगे जिलों में आज नागरिक सुरक्षा मॉक ड्रिल आयोजित की जाएगी। यह अभ्यास गुजरात, राजस्थान और जम्मू-कश्मीर में होगा। अभ्यास के दौरान, अधिकारी प्रतिभागियों को आवश्यक कौशल से लैस करने के लिए प्रदर्शन और प्रशिक्षण सत्र प्रदान करेंगे।
• सुप्रीम कोर्ट कॉलेजियम ने राजस्थान, त्रिपुरा, झारखंड और मद्रास उच्च न्यायालय के मुख्य न्यायाधीशों के स्थानांतरण की सिफारिश की है। कॉलेजियम का नेतृत्व भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश बी.आर. गवई ने किया।
• विदेश सचिव विक्रम मिसरी ने महत्वपूर्ण और उभरती प्रौद्योगिकियों में सहयोग को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका के अवर सचिव जेफरी केसलर से मुलाकात की। दोनों ने भारत-अमेरिका सामरिक व्यापार वार्ता के शीघ्र आयोजन पर भी चर्चा की।

International Updates

• The German Cabinet has approved two draft bills aimed at tightening the country’s migration laws, including restricting family reunification for certain refugees and ending the fast-track citizenship process for well-integrated migrants.

• In Cambodia, an 11-year-old boy from Kampong Speu province died of H5N1 human avian influenza, becoming the fourth human death from the virus so far this year.

• Two Indian peacekeepers who lost their lives while serving under the UN flag last year will be honoured posthumously on International Day of UN Peacekeepers. Brigadier General Amitabh Jha and Havildar Sanjay Singh will be honoured posthumously with the Dag Hammarskjold medal.

• Elon Musk’s SpaceX launched its mega rocket Starship last morning on a third test flight after the earlier two failed. However, the third test also met the same fate just minutes after liftoff. The rocket encountered a critical failure and was lost in flight.

• Sri Lanka’s merchandise exports to India have surged nearly 40 per cent during the first four months of 2025. It has reached 334 million dollars compared to 239 million dollars a year earlier.

• एलन मस्क की स्पेसएक्स ने कल सुबह अपने मेगा रॉकेट स्टारशिप को तीसरी परीक्षण उड़ान पर लॉन्च किया, जबकि पहले दो परीक्षण विफल हो गए थे। हालाँकि, उड़ान भरने के कुछ ही मिनटों बाद तीसरे परीक्षण का भी यही हश्र हुआ। रॉकेट गंभीर रूप से विफल हो गया और उड़ान के दौरान खो गया।
• 2025 के पहले चार महीनों के दौरान भारत को श्रीलंका के व्यापारिक निर्यात में लगभग 40 प्रतिशत की वृद्धि हुई है। एक साल पहले २३९ मिलियन डॉलर की तुलना में यह ३३४ मिलियन डॉलर तक पहुंच गया है।
