National Updates
- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast dense fog conditions during the night and early morning hours of Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim today. Similar conditions are also predicted in isolated pockets of Uttar Pradesh, and Gangetic West.
- Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda has said that the central fund released under the National Health Mission has witnessed a significant growth of 185 percent during the last ten years.
- Ahead of the budget session of the Parliament, the government has called an all-party meeting on Thursday. The budget session of Parliament will begin on Friday. On Saturday, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2025-26 in the Parliament.
- The Indian Space Research Organisation, ISRO, is preparing for its landmark 100th launch from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. At 06:23 hrs today morning, the GSLV F-15 rocket will lift off from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, SHAR, carrying the NVS-02 navigation satellite into the Geosynchronous Transfer orbit.
- The Supreme Court declined to entertain a PIL which sought the appointment of an expert committee to review and reform the existing dowry and domestic violence laws to stop their misuse.
International Updates
- Serbian Prime Minister Milos Vucevic announced that he was resigning, following months of mass demonstrations over the fatal collapse of a train station roof in November of last year. At least 15 people were killed in the northern city of Novi Sad in the accident.
- External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasised the growing importance of India-Middle East relations during the inaugural Raisina Dialogue in Abu Dhabi.
- In Sri Lanka, the Attorney General’s Department has filed an indictment in the High Court against Namal Rajapaksa. Member of Parliament and son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, Namal Rajapaksa, has been alleged to be involved in the form of illegal payoffs in the Krish project.
- Heavy snow blanketed South Korea today, with about 120 centimetres of snow piling up in the mountain areas of the southern resort island of Jeju. Other areas across the country were also pounded by snow, with more than 10 centimetres of snow falling in cities such as Chungju, Wonju, and Daejeon.
- Sri Lanka’s government has decided to renegotiate a power purchase agreement with India’s Adani Group for its wind power project. Responding to queries on the Adani project, Minister Nalinda Jayatissa clarified that the project has not been suspended.
- UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan announced 2025 as the Year of Community, launching a national initiative aimed at fostering unity and inclusion across society.
- The High Commission of India in Colombo has announced 200 fully-funded scholarships for Sri Lankan nationals for the 2025-2026 academic session.

- In the ICC Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup, India defeated Scotland by 150 runs at Bayuemas Oval Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Chasing a target of 209 runs set by India, Scotland was all out for only 58 runs in 14 overs.
- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced New Zealand’s Amelia Kerr as the winner of the prestigious Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year.
