National Updates

• In Bihar, the month-long enumeration form submission drive under Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral roll concluded. The verification drive was conducted across all 243 poll-bound assembly constituencies.

• The Ministry of Education has issued a directive to all States and Union Territories to take urgent steps to ensure student safety and well-being. This includes mandatory safety audits of schools and child-related facilities as per national safety codes.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new terminal building of the Tuticorin airport and also laid the foundation for projects worth 4800 Crores rupees in Tamil Nadu, after returning from Maldives.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 60th anniversary of Independence Day celebrations of Maldives as the ‘Guest of Honour’. This is the first time that an Indian Prime Minister is attending the Independence Day celebrations in Maldives.

• The Ministry of External Affairs said that India is closely monitoring the situation developing between Thailand and Cambodia. In a statement, the ministry said that New Delhi has close and friendly relations with both countries.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will share his thoughts with the people of the country and abroad in the Mann Ki Baat programme on Akashvani, today at 11 AM. It will be the 124th episode of the monthly radio programme.

• Seventeen parliamentarians have been awarded Sansad Ratna Awards 2025 in New Delhi for their exemplary performances. These parliamentarians include Ravi Kishan.

International updates

• Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation (SSCA) prohibited all flights from flying across fighting zones with Thailand. Sinn Chanserey Vutha, who is also the SSCA’s secretary of state, said all airlines had been informed to avoid flying over conflict zones.

• Iran successfully launched its telecommunications and research satellite Nahid-2 into space aboard a Russian Soyuz rocket. It was part of a multi-payload mission that also included Russia’s Unisphere-M3 and M4 satellites, along with 18 other satellites from various countries.

• US President Donald Trump has indicated his inclination towards preserving the key limits on nuclear weapons set by the New START treaty with Russia.

• Voters in Taiwan are casting ballots on whether to recall one-fifth of the island’s parliament, all from the major opposition party. The move, supporters hope will send a message to China.

Sports Updates

• In Chess, the first Game in the final of the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2025 between Koneru Humpy and fellow Indian Divya Deshmukh ended in a draw in Batumi, Georgia.

• In Squash, India’s Anahat Singh scripted history at the World Junior Championships 2025 in Cairo, Egypt, claiming a bronze medal in the women’s singles event, the country’s first in 15 years.

• बिहार में मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन संशोधन (एसआईआर) के तहत महीने भर चलने वाला गणना फॉर्म जमा करने का अभियान समाप्त हो गया। सत्यापन अभियान सभी 243 मतदान-योग्य विधानसभा निर्वाचन क्षेत्रों में चलाया गया।
• शिक्षा मंत्रालय ने सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को छात्रों की सुरक्षा और कल्याण सुनिश्चित करने के लिए तत्काल कदम उठाने का निर्देश जारी किया है। इसमें राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा संहिताओं के अनुसार स्कूलों और बाल-संबंधी सुविधाओं का अनिवार्य सुरक्षा ऑडिट शामिल है।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मालदीव से लौटने के बाद तूतीकोरिन हवाई अड्डे के नए टर्मिनल भवन का उद्घाटन किया और तमिलनाडु में 4800 करोड़ रुपये की परियोजनाओं की नींव भी रखी।
• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने मालदीव के स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह की 60वीं वर्षगांठ में ‘सम्मान अतिथि’ के रूप में भाग लिया। यह पहली बार है कि कोई भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री मालदीव में स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोह में भाग ले रहा है।
• विदेश मंत्रालय ने कहा कि भारत थाईलैंड और कंबोडिया के बीच विकसित हो रही स्थिति पर बारीकी से नजर रख रहा है। एक बयान में मंत्रालय ने कहा कि नई दिल्ली के दोनों देशों के साथ घनिष्ठ और मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंध हैं।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी आज सुबह ११ बजे आकाशवाणी पर मान की बात कार्यक्रम में देश-विदेश के लोगों के साथ अपने विचार साझा करेंगे। यह मासिक रेडियो कार्यक्रम का १२४ वां एपिसोड होगा।

• कंबोडिया के राज्य नागरिक उड्डयन सचिवालय (एसएससीए) ने थाईलैंड के साथ युद्ध क्षेत्रों में उड़ान भरने वाली सभी उड़ानों पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया। सिन चैनसेरी वुथा, जो एसएससीए के राज्य सचिव भी हैं, ने कहा कि सभी एयरलाइनों को संघर्ष क्षेत्रों में उड़ान भरने से बचने के लिए सूचित किया गया है।
• ईरान ने अपने दूरसंचार और अनुसंधान उपग्रह नाहिद-2 को रूसी सोयुज रॉकेट से अंतरिक्ष में सफलतापूर्वक प्रक्षेपित किया। यह एक मल्टी-पेलोड मिशन का हिस्सा था जिसमें रूस के यूनिस्फीयर-एम ३ और एम ४ उपग्रहों के साथ-साथ विभिन्न देशों के १८ अन्य उपग्रह भी शामिल थे।
