• The Indian Army has issued an internal letter on use of social media applications by its personnel, with an emphasis on operational security and responsible online behaviour. Sources in the Indian Army said that Army personnel have been allowed to access Instagram only for the purposes of viewing.

• The Railways has rationalised its passenger fare structure with effect from today, with the objective of balancing affordability for passengers and sustainability of operations. Under the revised fare structure, there is no change in fares for suburban services and Season Tickets.

• Vice President C P Radhakrishnan released the second and final series of Mahamana Vangmay: The Collected Works of Pandit Madan Mohan Malaviya in New Delhi.

• President Droupadi Murmu released the Constitution in the Santhali language at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. Speaking on the occasion, the President said that it is a matter of pride and joy for all the Santhali people that the Constitution is now available in the Santhali.

• The Navi Mumbai International Airport commenced commercial flight operations, marking a key milestone for India’s civil aviation sector. The airport is also expanding air travel capacity for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

• Bangladesh’s interim government has reaffirmed that the Awami League (AL) will not be able to participate in the next national election, scheduled for February 12, citing the suspension of the party’s activities and deregistration.
