National Updates

• The Atal Pension Yojana, APY has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing 8 crore total gross enrolments with an addition of 39 lakh new subscribers in the current Financial Year alone. It is a flagship social security scheme of the Government of India administered by PFRDA.

• India extends 4,850 Crore rupees Line of Credit to Maldives; Both countries sign 4 MoUs & 3 agreements.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has become the second-longest serving Prime Minister of the country with an uninterrupted tenure.

• The Government has directed the blocking of 25 OTT websites and apps showcasing obscene, vulgar and in some cases, pornographic content. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting noted that some content on these platforms include sexual innuendos.

• The second round of negotiations for the India-New Zealand Free Trade Agreement concluded in New Delhi. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the conclusion of the second round of negotiations will further strengthen bilateral trade and economic partnerships.

• Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu took an extensive review of the Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha 2027 rail plans. The Ministry of Railways has started advance preparations for Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha to be held in 2027.   

• The Election Commission has said that over 99.8 percent of electors have been covered in Bihar under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative. EC said in a statement that 22 lakh electors have been found deceased, over 35 lakh permanently migrated.

International updates

• Talks between Iran and the UK, France and Germany, known collectively as the E3 countries, concluded in Istanbul with both sides agreeing to continue discussions aimed at breaking the deadlock over Tehran’s nuclear programme.

• The Indian Embassy in Thailand has advised all Indian travellers to Thailand to check updates from Thai official sources, including Tourism Authority of Thailand Newsroom, in view of the situation near Thailand-Cambodia border.

• A South Korean court ordered former President Yoon Suk Yeol to compensate ordinary people for the mental distress caused by his December 3 martial law declaration. The Seoul Central District Court issued the order while ruling in favour of 104 citizens who filed a class-action suit.

• French President Emmanuel Macron said that France will officially recognise a Palestinian state during the United Nations General Assembly in September.

• Industry leaders are hailing the signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement (FTA) as a transformative step. The Engineering Export Promotion Council India, EEPC India, has welcomed the signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement.

अटल पेंशन योजना, एपीवाई ने अकेले चालू वित्त वर्ष में ३९ लाख नए ग्राहकों के जुड़ने के साथ ८ करोड़ कुल सकल नामांकन को पार करके एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर हासिल किया है। यह पीएफआरडीए द्वारा प्रशासित भारत सरकार की एक प्रमुख सामाजिक सुरक्षा योजना है।
• भारत ने मालदीव को 4,850 करोड़ रुपये की ऋण सुविधा प्रदान की; दोनों देशों ने 4 समझौता ज्ञापनों और 3 समझौतों पर हस्ताक्षर किए।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी निर्बाध कार्यकाल के साथ देश के दूसरे सबसे लंबे समय तक सेवा करने वाले प्रधानमंत्री बन गए हैं।
• सरकार ने अश्लील, भद्दी और कुछ मामलों में अश्लील सामग्री प्रदर्शित करने वाली 25 ओटीटी वेबसाइटों और ऐप्स को ब्लॉक करने का निर्देश दिया है। सूचना एवं प्रसारण मंत्रालय ने कहा कि इन प्लेटफार्मों पर कुछ सामग्री में यौन इशारे भी शामिल हैं।
• भारत-न्यूजीलैंड मुक्त व्यापार समझौते के लिए दूसरे दौर की वार्ता नई दिल्ली में संपन्न हुई। वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्रालय के अनुसार, दूसरे दौर की वार्ता के समापन से द्विपक्षीय व्यापार और आर्थिक साझेदारी और मजबूत होगी।
• केंद्रीय रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव और राज्य मंत्री रावनीत सिंह बिट्टू ने नासिक-त्रिम्बकेश्वर सिम्हास्थ 2027 रेल योजनाओं की व्यापक समीक्षा की। रेल मंत्रालय ने २०२७ में होने वाले नासिक-त्रिम्बकेश्वर सिम्हास्थ के लिए अग्रिम तैयारी शुरू कर दी है।
• चुनाव आयोग ने कहा है कि विशेष गहन संशोधन (एसआईआर) पहल के तहत बिहार में 99.8 प्रतिशत से अधिक मतदाताओं को कवर किया गया है। चुनाव आयोग ने एक बयान में कहा कि 22 लाख मतदाता मृत पाए गए हैं, 35 लाख से अधिक स्थायी रूप से पलायन कर गए हैं।

• ईरान और ब्रिटेन, फ्रांस और जर्मनी, जिन्हें सामूहिक रूप से ई3 देश कहा जाता है, के बीच इस्तांबुल में वार्ता संपन्न हुई, जिसमें दोनों पक्षों ने तेहरान के परमाणु कार्यक्रम पर गतिरोध को तोड़ने के उद्देश्य से चर्चा जारी रखने पर सहमति व्यक्त की।
• थाईलैंड स्थित भारतीय दूतावास ने थाईलैंड आने वाले सभी भारतीय यात्रियों को थाईलैंड-कंबोडिया सीमा के निकट की स्थिति को देखते हुए थाईलैंड पर्यटन प्राधिकरण न्यूज़रूम सहित थाई आधिकारिक स्रोतों से अपडेट देखने की सलाह दी है।
• दक्षिण कोरियाई अदालत ने पूर्व राष्ट्रपति यूं सुक येओल को 3 दिसंबर को मार्शल लॉ की घोषणा के कारण हुई मानसिक परेशानी के लिए आम लोगों को मुआवजा देने का आदेश दिया। सियोल सेंट्रल डिस्ट्रिक्ट कोर्ट ने सामूहिक मुकदमा दायर करने वाले 104 नागरिकों के पक्ष में फैसला सुनाते हुए यह आदेश जारी किया।
• फ्रांस के राष्ट्रपति इमैनुएल मैक्रों ने कहा कि फ्रांस सितंबर में संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा के दौरान आधिकारिक तौर पर फिलिस्तीनी राज्य को मान्यता देगा।
• उद्योग जगत के नेता भारत-ब्रिटेन मुक्त व्यापार समझौते (एफटीए) पर हस्ताक्षर को एक परिवर्तनकारी कदम बता रहे हैं। इंजीनियरिंग एक्सपोर्ट प्रमोशन काउंसिल इंडिया, ईईपीसी इंडिया ने भारत-ब्रिटेन मुक्त व्यापार समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर का स्वागत किया है।
