National Updates

• The Government has debunked the claims made by several social media accounts that Indian Airspace was used by the United States to launch aircraft against Iran during Operation Midnight Hammer. The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau termed the claim as fake.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian and expressed deep concern at the recent escalation in the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. In a social media post on Sunday, Mr Modi highlighted that they discussed about the current situation in detail.

• A total of 311 Indian nationals arrived in New Delhi this on a special flight from Mashhad. External Affairs Ministry said that 1,428 Indian nationals have been evacuated from Iran under Operation Sindhu so far.

• Two-day national conference of Estimates Committees of Parliament and state/UT legislative bodies will begin in Mumbai on Monday. Deliberations will be held on the role of Estimates Committee in effective monitoring and review of Budget Estimates.

• Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will release a book Wings to Our Hopes – Volume 2, based on speeches delivered by President Droupadi Murmu at a function in New Delhi on Monday. This curated collection of 51 speeches offers a window into the vision, philosophy, and priorities of President Murmu.

• Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone of the campus of National Forensic Sciences University and a Central Forensic Science Laboratory in in Chhattisgarh’s Nava Raipur Atal Nagar.

• सरकार ने कई सोशल मीडिया खातों द्वारा किए गए दावों को खारिज कर दिया है कि ऑपरेशन मिडनाइट हैमर के दौरान ईरान के खिलाफ विमान लॉन्च करने के लिए संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका द्वारा भारतीय हवाई क्षेत्र का इस्तेमाल किया गया था। प्रेस सूचना ब्यूरो की तथ्य जांच इकाई ने इस दावे को फर्जी बताया।
• प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने ईरान के राष्ट्रपति मसूद पेजेशकियन से बात की और ईरान और इज़राइल के बीच चल रहे संघर्ष में हालिया वृद्धि पर गहरी चिंता व्यक्त की। रविवार को एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में श्री मोदी ने इस बात पर प्रकाश डाला कि उन्होंने वर्तमान स्थिति के बारे में विस्तार से चर्चा की।

• रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह सोमवार को नई दिल्ली में एक समारोह में राष्ट्रपति द्रौपदी मुर्मू द्वारा दिए गए भाषणों पर आधारित पुस्तक विंग्स टू अवर होप्स – खंड 2 का विमोचन करेंगे। 51 भाषणों का यह संकलित संग्रह राष्ट्रपति मुर्मू के दृष्टिकोण, दर्शन और प्राथमिकताओं की झलक प्रस्तुत करता है।
• गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने छत्तीसगढ़ के नवा रायपुर अटल नगर में राष्ट्रीय फोरेंसिक विज्ञान विश्वविद्यालय और एक केंद्रीय फोरेंसिक विज्ञान प्रयोगशाला के परिसर की आधारशिला रखी।

• United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres made an impassioned plea for peace during an emergency special session of the Security Council at UN Headquarters in New York, urging immediate action to de-escalate the crisis in Iran following the US military strikes on the Islamic Republic’s nation.

• Iran’s Parliament has unanimously approved a dramatic proposal to close the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most critical oil and gas shipping route, in direct retaliation for US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan.

• Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that he will travel to Moscow in the afternoon to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The statement comes in a media briefing on Sunday after the US struck Iranian nuclear sites with its B-2 stealth bomber fighter plane.

• Air travel across the West Asia continues to face major disruptions after the United States launched air strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities. Airlines are now avoiding large parts of the region’s airspace due to growing security concerns, causing delays, longer flight times, and increased cost.

• Iran has strongly condemned the U.S. military attack on its nuclear facilities, calling it a grave violation of international law and the United Nations Charter. The Iranian Foreign Ministry labelled the strike a brutal act of aggression and held the United States fully responsible for the consequences.

• In the first match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, on third day, India were 31 for 1 loss in its second inning against hosts England in Leeds. In the first innings, India registered six-run lead as England were all out scoring 465 runs against India’s 471 at Headingley.

• In Tennis, India’s Maaya Rajeshwaran has clinched the women’s singles ITF J200 Gladbeck title in Germany. The 16-year-old defeated Switzerland’s Noelia Manta 6-2, 6-4 in the final.
