• President Droupadi Murmu has urged the AIIMS faculty to launch an awareness drive on the issue of mental health to make people aware of this hidden sickness.

• The Lok Sabha has passed Demands for Grants of various ministries for 2025-26 in respect of the Union Budget. During the proceedings, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla applied the guillotine to pass the Demands for Grants for the Ministries, including Chemicals and Fertilisers, Power, Commerce and Industry.

• India has strongly registered its concerns with the US authorities on the treatment meted out to deportees on the flight that landed on the 5th of last month in Amritsar, particularly with respect to the use of shackles, especially on women.

• India has registered its solemn protest through diplomatic channels over the creation of new counties in Hotan prefecture of China.

• The government said that India’s position on the Ukraine-Russia conflict is well-known and understood as well. It said India has always advocated for sincere and practical engagement between the two parties and other key stakeholders through dialogue and diplomacy to arrive at and find a lasting solution.

• The fire near Heathrow Airport in London that knocked out power to one of the world’s busiest airports is now under control. The London Fire Brigade has informed this.

• Sri Lanka’s Election Commission has revealed that 107 registered political parties and 49 independent groups have submitted their nominations. The acceptance of nominations for the 2025 local government election concluded yesterday.
