National Updates

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has concluded his historic and first-ever official visit to Croatia and is on his way to New Delhi. Packed with high-level engagements, the visit marked a significant elevation in India-Croatia ties and set the stage for future strategic collaborations.

• The flight carrying 110 Indian students evacuated from northern Iran landed in New Delhi in the wee hours. India has launched Operation Sindhu to evacuate its nationals from Iran in view of the deteriorating situation due to the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel.

• A tripartite Memorandum of Understanding was signed in New Delhi between the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). The MoU aims to promote inclusive education of persons with disabilities.

• Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari chaired a high-level meeting in New Delhi on the implementation of the nationwide scheme for cashless treatment of road accident victims. During the meeting, the Minister commended grassroots efforts in promoting road safety.

• Government will introduce a FASTag-based Annual Pass priced at three thousand rupees from 15th August this year, which will enable seamless and cost-effective travel across National Highways throughout the country. This annual Pass will be valid for one year from the date of activation or up to 200 trips.

• Desi Oon, an animation film by filmmaker Suresh Eriyat, has brought international acclaim to Indian animation by winning the Jury Award for Best Commissioned Film at the Annecy International Animation Festival 2025.

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने क्रोएशिया की अपनी ऐतिहासिक और पहली आधिकारिक यात्रा पूरी कर ली है और वे नई दिल्ली के लिए रवाना हो गए हैं। उच्च स्तरीय कार्यक्रमों से भरपूर इस यात्रा ने भारत-क्रोएशिया संबंधों में महत्वपूर्ण प्रगति को चिह्नित किया तथा भविष्य के रणनीतिक सहयोग के लिए मंच तैयार किया।
• उत्तरी ईरान से निकाले गए ११० भारतीय छात्रों को लेकर उड़ान तड़के नई दिल्ली में उतरी। ईरान और इजरायल के बीच चल रहे संघर्ष के कारण बिगड़ती स्थिति को देखते हुए भारत ने ईरान से अपने नागरिकों को निकालने के लिए ऑपरेशन सिंधु शुरू किया है।
• नई दिल्ली में विकलांग व्यक्तियों के सशक्तिकरण विभाग, राष्ट्रीय मुक्त स्कूली शिक्षा संस्थान (एनआईओएस) और राष्ट्रीय शैक्षिक अनुसंधान एवं प्रशिक्षण परिषद (एनसीईआरटी) के बीच एक त्रिपक्षीय समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। समझौता ज्ञापन का उद्देश्य विकलांग व्यक्तियों की समावेशी शिक्षा को बढ़ावा देना है।
• सड़क परिवहन एवं राजमार्ग मंत्री नितिन गडकरी ने सड़क दुर्घटना पीड़ितों के लिए नकदी रहित उपचार की राष्ट्रव्यापी योजना के कार्यान्वयन पर नई दिल्ली में एक उच्च स्तरीय बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। बैठक के दौरान मंत्री ने सड़क सुरक्षा को बढ़ावा देने के लिए जमीनी स्तर पर किए जा रहे प्रयासों की सराहना की।
• सरकार इस साल 15 अगस्त से तीन हजार रुपये की कीमत वाला फास्टैग-आधारित वार्षिक पास पेश करेगी, जो पूरे देश में राष्ट्रीय राजमार्गों पर निर्बाध और लागत प्रभावी यात्रा को सक्षम करेगा। यह वार्षिक पास सक्रियण की तिथि से एक वर्ष या अधिकतम 200 यात्राओं के लिए वैध होगा।
• फिल्म निर्माता सुरेश एरियट की एनीमेशन फिल्म देसी ऊन ने एनेसी इंटरनेशनल एनिमेशन फेस्टिवल 2025 में सर्वश्रेष्ठ कमीशन फिल्म के लिए जूरी अवार्ड जीतकर भारतीय एनीमेशन को अंतरराष्ट्रीय ख्याति दिलाई है।

• The confrontation between Israel and Iran has entered its sixth day, with continued missile exchanges and airstrikes fueling fears of a wider regional conflict. Explosions rocked Tehran as Israel claimed attacks on centrifuge and weapons production sites in Iran.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi has firmly told US President Donald Trump that India never accepted third-party mediation and will never accept it to resolve issues with Pakistan.

• इजरायल और ईरान के बीच टकराव अपने छठे दिन में प्रवेश कर गया है, लगातार मिसाइल आदान-प्रदान और हवाई हमलों से व्यापक क्षेत्रीय संघर्ष की आशंका बढ़ गई है। तेहरान में विस्फोटों ने तब हलचल मचा दी जब इज़राइल ने ईरान में सेंट्रीफ्यूज और हथियार उत्पादन स्थलों पर हमलों का दावा किया।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप से दृढ़ता से कहा है कि भारत ने कभी भी तीसरे पक्ष की मध्यस्थता को स्वीकार नहीं किया और पाकिस्तान के साथ मुद्दों को सुलझाने के लिए इसे कभी स्वीकार नहीं करेगा।

• The Indian Junior Men’s Hockey Team today flew off from Bengaluru to take part in the prestigious 4 Nations Tournament in Germany, starting from the 21st of this month. Led by Captain Araijeet Singh Hundal, the team will face hosts Germany on the 21st of June.

• The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced that the Men’s Selection Committee has added Harshit Rana to India’s squad for the first Test in Leeds against England.
