National Updates

• The National Highway number 10, connecting Sikkim and Kalimpong to the rest of the country, reopened to traffic after remaining closed for six days due to continuous landslides.

• Union Minister and North Mumbai MP Piyush Goyal inaugurated “Mauli – the very first All-Women Operated Clean Street Food Hub” in Kandivani near Mumbai.

• Maharashtra Governor CP Radhakrishnan will be the NDA’s candidate for the upcoming Vice Presidential Election. BJP national president and Union Minister JP Nadda announced this while addressing the media following the BJP parliamentary board meeting at the party headquarters in New Delhi.

• PM Modi Inaugurated ₹11,000 Cr Highway Projects in Delhi.

• The Election Commission today said that all parties are equal before it as it does not discriminate among political parties. Briefing the media in New Delhi last afternoon, Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar said the Election Commission will never step back from its constitutional duty.

• India and Nepal have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen cooperation and partnership. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, on a two-day official tour to Nepal, held a series of high-level meetings.

• सिक्किम और कलिम्पोंग को देश के बाकी हिस्सों से जोड़ने वाला राष्ट्रीय राजमार्ग संख्या 10 लगातार भूस्खलन के कारण छह दिनों तक बंद रहने के बाद यातायात के लिए फिर से खुल गया।
• केंद्रीय मंत्री और उत्तरी मुंबई के सांसद पीयूष गोयल ने मुंबई के पास कांदिवानी में “मौली – पहला सर्व-महिला संचालित स्वच्छ स्ट्रीट फूड हब” का उद्घाटन किया।
• महाराष्ट्र के गवर्नर सीपी राधाकृष्णन आगामी उपराष्ट्रपति चुनाव के लिए एनडीए के उम्मीदवार होंगे। भाजपा के राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष और केंद्रीय मंत्री जेपी नड्डा ने नई दिल्ली स्थित पार्टी मुख्यालय में भाजपा संसदीय बोर्ड की बैठक के बाद मीडिया को संबोधित करते हुए इसकी घोषणा की।
• पीएम मोदी ने दिल्ली में ₹11,000 करोड़ राजमार्ग परियोजनाओं का उद्घाटन किया।
• चुनाव आयोग ने आज कहा कि उसके सामने सभी दल समान हैं क्योंकि वह राजनीतिक दलों के बीच भेदभाव नहीं करता है। कल दोपहर नई दिल्ली में मीडिया को जानकारी देते हुए मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार ने कहा कि चुनाव आयोग अपने संवैधानिक कर्तव्य से कभी पीछे नहीं हटेगा।

International updates

• More than 500 humanoid robots from 16 countries, including Japan, showcased their skills at the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing.

• In Sri Lanka, the Indian Cultural Association, in collaboration with the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, organised a special screening of Sholay to mark 50 years of the iconic film in Colombo.

• Foreign investors pumped in 4,469 crore rupees into the Indian debt markets so far in August. However, as per the depositories data, foreign portfolio investors, or FPIs, pulled out 20,975 crore rupees from the Indian equity markets during the August 1 and 15 period.

• Global crude oil prices declined last week. Brent crude oil futures dropped 1.7 per cent during the week to end at 65.85 dollars a barrel, while the US crude fell 1.1 per cent to close at 62.80 dollars per barrel. Weaker economic data from China also raised concerns over fuel demand.

• Several European leaders will meet Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House today. French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Finnish President Alexander Stubb have confirmed their attendance.

• Russia is set to launch the Venera-D mission to revisit Venus before 2036. According to Oleg Korablev from the Space Research Institute (IKI), Preliminary design work will begin in January 2026.

• रूस 2036 से पहले शुक्र ग्रह पर पुनः जाने के लिए वेनेरा-डी मिशन शुरू करने वाला है। अंतरिक्ष अनुसंधान संस्थान (आईकेआई) के ओलेग कोराबलेव के अनुसार, प्रारंभिक डिजाइन का काम जनवरी २०२६ में शुरू होगा

• Indian shuttler Devika Sihag claimed her first International Challenge title by winning the women’s singles event at the Malaysia International Challenge 2025 in Ipoh. The 20-year-old defeated fifth-seeded compatriot Isharani Baruah 15-7, 15-12 in the final.

• Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unveiled the logo, mascot, and trophy of the 12th Men’s Asia Cup Hockey Championship at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat in Patna. Bihar is hosting the tournament for the first time and is scheduled to take place between the 29th of this month and the 7th of October.

• In tennis, Carlos Alcaraz reached his seventh consecutive tour-level final by defeating an injured Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-3 at the Cincinnati Open.
