• Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya Inaugurates Fit India Carnival in Delhi

• India and New Zealand have announced the launch of negotiations for a comprehensive and mutually beneficial Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations. This significant step was marked by a meeting between Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal and Minister for Trade and Investment of New Zealand.

• Prime Minister of New Zealand Christopher Luxon arrived in New Delhi on a five day visit to India. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Ministers, senior officials, businesses, media and members of the Indian diaspora community.

• NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, along with Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Takuya Onishi and Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov entered the International Space Station (ISS) shortly after opening the hatches between the space station and the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft.

• The 14th meeting of the ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) Experts Working Group (EWG) on Counter-Terrorism will be held in New Delhi on 19th and 20th of March. India and Malaysia will co-chair the two-day meeting.

• The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has seized a consignment of methamphetamine tablets worth 88 crore rupees and arrested four members of an international drug cartel in the Imphal and Guwahati.

• In the United States, at least 34 people have died after deadly tornadoes tore through several south-eastern states, flipping cars and flattening homes. More than 2,50,000 properties were without power across seven states – including Michigan, Missouri and Illinois.

• Lashkar-e-Taiba’s terrorist Abu Qatal, also known as Qatal Sindhi, was killed in the Jhelum Sindh region of Pakistan. He was gunned down by unidentified assailants.

• The United States of America carried out a series of airstrikes on Yemen’s capital Sanaa following an order from President Donald Trump. President Trump also promised to continue the use of overwhelming lethal force until Iranian-backed Houthi rebels cease their attacks.

• In Myanmar, an airstrike by the military on a village under the control of a pro-democracy resistance group has killed at least 27 civilians including six children.
