- At least 12 Maoists have been killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh. This encounter has been going on since yesterday morning in the forests of South Bastar on the Telangana border in Bijapur district.
- The government announced the setting up of the 8th Pay Commission for the Central government employees and pensioners.
- President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam held a wide range of discussions with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhawan in New Delhi. The discussions covered avenues for further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between India and Singapore.
- The QS World Future Skills Index has ranked India 2nd for Digital Skills, ahead of Canada and Germany.

- In Nepal, the Terai region has been experiencing thick fog and extremely cold conditions in the morning, leading to a significant decline in public movement in urban and market areas.
- Israel has delayed a cabinet vote on the Gaza ceasefire and hostage deal, blaming Hamas for reneging on parts of the agreement. However, Hamas has denied the accusation and said it is committed to the truce.
- In Bangladesh, protesting ethnic minority students were attacked by other student groups and local people in the capital Dhaka on Wednesday.
- India and Sri Lanka have signed an agreement to set up 60 smart classrooms in plantation regions on the island. The project is funded by a grant of 508 million Sri Lankan rupees from the Indian government.
- In South Africa, the death toll from the incident involving illegal miners at an abandoned gold mine has risen to 78. According to police, the bodies of 18 more miners were recovered from the old Buffelsfontein Gold Mine in Stilfontein.
- The European Union has welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Gaza and called on both parties to fully implement the deal.
