•The SURYAPATH TIRANGA Global Relay is live, marking a unique global celebration of India’s Independence Day as the Tiranga travels across the world following the path of the rising sun. The Suryapath Tiranga journey began at 1:30 AM in Suva, as the Tiranga was hoisted at the first point of the relay.
•Amrit Udyan will be open to the general public from today till the 15th of next month. Our correspondent reports, the garden will remain open from 10 AM to 6 PM, with the last entry at 5 PM. It will remain closed on Mondays for maintenance.
•Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has notified the Foreign Assets of Small Taxpayers -Disclosure Scheme (FAST-DS) Rules, 2026. It enables eligible taxpayers to declare certain undisclosed foreign assets, undisclosed foreign income, or undeclared foreign assets, on payment of a specified tax.

•Baloch leader Mir Yar Baloch has accused the Pakistani military of committing war crimes and targeting civilians, claiming that video footage from the recent airstrikes in Surab provides evidence of military aggression against the local population in Balochistan.
•In Indonesia, the death toll has risen to 47 after a powerful 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck off the coast of Flores. The earthquake was followed by dozens of aftershocks as rescue teams continued efforts to reach the worst-affected areas.
•At least eleven people were reportedly killed in Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon. Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that one of the airstrikes hit a home in Ansar village killing seven people. Another strike on the village of Deir al-Zahrani killed four people while injured 17.
