• Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla today interacted with the Speaker of the National Assembly of Malawi, Sameer Suleman, reflecting on the strong and growing India-Malawi ties and the shared commitment to enhancing the dignity, credibility, and effectiveness of parliamentary institutions.

• The Department of Posts has achieved a significant milestone with the successful booking and delivery of its first online order through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) as Logistics Service Provider.

• Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal inaugurated a in house printing setup in the Legislative Department at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi. On the occasion, a copy of the Index to Statutory Definitions (Fourth Edition) was printed in the presence of the Minister.

• The Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS) organised the 5th District Collectors’ Peyjal Samvad to review progress under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The virtual meeting was chaired by DDWS Secretary Ashok K K Meena. The meeting was attended by more than 1500 participants.

• The first meeting of the new Central Working Committee was formed after the second Special General Convention of the Nepali Congress concluded in Kathmandu. The Special General Convention elected Gagan Kumar Thapa as the new party president unopposed.

• Uruguay’s Ambassador to India, Alberto Antonio Guani Amarilla, has said that the US seeking control over Greenland would create big problems with the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), the European Union (EU) and the rest of the world.

• Elon Musk-led SpaceX successfully brought back four NASA astronauts to Earth in the first-ever medical evacuation from the International Space Station (ISS). NASA astronauts Zena Cardman and Mike Fincke, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Oleg.

• The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Thursday relieved director M Najmul Islam of his duties as chairman of the board’s finance committee, following widespread protests by cricketers that triggered a boycott of all forms of cricket, including the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
