• भारतीय मौसम विभाग (आईएमडी) ने जम्मू-कश्मीर, हिमाचल प्रदेश, पूर्वी मध्य प्रदेश, विदर्भ क्षेत्र और तटीय आंध्र में बहुत भारी वर्षा का अनुमान लगाया है।
• सरकार ने कांस्टेबल से लेकर इंस्पेक्टर तक सीमा सुरक्षा बल (बीएसएफ) समूह बी और सी के कर्मचारियों की पहली कैडर समीक्षा को मंजूरी दे दी है और इसका कार्यान्वयन पहले ही शुरू हो चुका है। कार्यान्वयन में 23 हजार 710 कर्मियों की कुल तत्काल पदोन्नति शामिल होगी।
• ऑस्ट्रेलियाई सेना के सेना प्रमुख लेफ्टिनेंट जनरल साइमन स्टुअर्ट ने 11 से 14 अगस्त तक भारत के अपने आधिकारिक दौरे के तहत पुणे में दक्षिणी कमान मुख्यालय का दौरा किया।
• केंद्रीय वाणिज्य एवं उद्योग मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने नई दिल्ली के द्वारका स्थित बौद्धिक संपदा कार्यालय में नव विस्तारित आईएसए भवन का उद्घाटन किया।

Typhoon Podul, the 11th typhoon of the year, made landfall in eastern Taiwan’s Taitung County, bringing severe storms to Hualien and Taitung cities. The local meteorological agency continued to issue both sea and land warnings for Podul.

International crude oil prices continued their downward trend. Brent Crude was trading 0.38 per cent lower at 65 dollars and 87 cents, while WTI Crude was 0.62 per cent down at 62 dollars and 78 cents.
