• The IndiaAI Mission, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has signed an agreement with Karya, a nonprofit organisation that works to increase accessibility of the AI economy.

• The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) has approved an increase in Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for 14 Kharif Crops for Marketing Season 2026-27.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a six-day visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, and Italy on Friday.

• The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested five accused persons in connection with the alleged irregularities and paper leak related to the NEET UG-2026 examination. The five accused persons in the case, three from Jaipur, one from Gurugram and one from Nashik and several other suspects.

• The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has successfully performed a Simultaneous Pancreas Kidney (SPK) Transplant, the first such procedure at the institute after a gap of 18 years.

• The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) is working to automate the process for settling provident fund withdrawal claims. Speaking at an event, Central Provident Fund Commissioner of EPFO Ramesh Krishnamurthi said, the government is also going to initiate auto-settlement of final withdrawal.

• The National Investigation Agency NIA arrested wanted narco-terrorist Iqbal Singh alias Shera after successfully securing his extradition from Portugal following prolonged diplomatic and legal efforts.

• Minister of Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal had detailed discussions with Minister of Transport, Communications and IT of Oman, Said bin Hamoud Al Maawali, over Video Conferencing.

• Air India has decided to reduce international flights, temporarily suspending services on some overseas routes. The decision has been taken in the wake of airspace curbs, and high jet fuel prices.

• Secretary of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), S. Krishnan launched an IP catalyst and digital platform during a day long National Conference in New Delhi.

• Nepal’s Minister of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Sobita Gautam presented the ‘Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty on Criminal Matters’ signed with India for discussion in the parliament.

• The 17th round of India-Uzbekistan Foreign Office Consultations was held in New Delhi, co-chaired by Secretary (West) Sibi George and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhromjon Aloev.

• US President Donald Trump arrived in Beijing for a high-stakes summit with his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. During their two-day talks beginning today, the two leaders are expected to discuss a range of critical issues, including war involving Iran, US arms sales to Taiwan,etc.

• Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has pledged that agreements on energy supplies to India will be fulfilled despite external competition. During an interview, Mr. Lavrov said that Russia will do everything to ensure that unfair and dishonest competition does not damage bilateral agreements.

• In Lebanon, eight people were killed in Israeli drone strikes targeting three vehicles on the main highway south of Beirut. The Lebanese Health Ministry confirmed the three strikes in a statement.

• Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has been sworn in for a historic seventh term, extending his 40-year tenure following a landslide victory in January elections. One of Africa’s longest-serving leaders, Museveni, took the oath of office at an event at the Kololo Independence Grounds.

• In Weightlifting, India’s Gyaneshwari Yadav bagged two medals, a silver and a bronze at the Asian Senior Championships in Gandhinagar. Gyaneshwari won a silver in the snatch section in the 53kg category and then an overall bronze medal in the event with a combined lift of 194kg.

• In Thailand Open Badminton, star shuttlers PV Sindhu, Lakshya Sen and Kidambi Srikanth progressed to the pre-quarterfinals of Singles events in Bangkok. In Women’s Singles, a two-time Olympic medallist, PV Sindhu defeated Tung Ciou-Tong of Chinese Taipei 21-9 21-12.

• आर्थिक मामलों की कैबिनेट समिति (सीसीईए) ने मार्केटिंग सीजन 2026-27 के लिए 14 खरीफ फसलों के लिए न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एमएसपी) में वृद्धि को मंजूरी दे दी है।
