National Updates

• The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested a key Khalistani operative associated with foreign-based Babbar Khalsa terrorists and one of the hardened criminals, Harwinder Singh Sandhu, who had escaped during the Nabha jail break in 2016.

• Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi reviewed the security situation with the Army Commanders of the Western Borders following ceasefire and airspace violations last night. The Indian Army said the army chief has granted full authority to the army commanders for counteraction in the kinetic domain.

• Director General of Military Operations, DGMO of the Indian Army, Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, said strikes across nine terror hubs in Pakistan and PoJK under Operation Sindoor killed over 100 terrorists.

• Indian Space Research Organisation chairman Dr. V. Narayanan said that the NASA-ISRO synthetic approach radar satellite is likely to be launched next month.

• The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted searches at 42 locations in 8 states under the ongoing Operation Chakra-V against digital arrest.

• राष्ट्रीय जांच एजेंसी (एनआईए) ने विदेश स्थित बब्बर खालसा आतंकवादियों से जुड़े एक प्रमुख खालिस्तानी कार्यकर्ता और कठोर अपराधियों में से एक, हरविंदर सिंह संधू को गिरफ्तार किया, जो 2016 में नाभा जेल ब्रेक के दौरान भाग गया था।
• सेना प्रमुख जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी ने कल रात संघर्ष विराम और हवाई क्षेत्र के उल्लंघन के बाद पश्चिमी सीमाओं के सेना कमांडरों के साथ सुरक्षा स्थिति की समीक्षा की। भारतीय सेना ने कहा कि सेना प्रमुख ने सेना के कमांडरों को काइनेटिक डोमेन में जवाबी कार्रवाई के लिए पूर्ण अधिकार प्रदान किया है।

• A team of 10 mountaineers comprising five Nepalese and five climbers from the UK, Kosovo, Iran and the UAE have successfully climbed the world’s third-highest peak – the 8,586-metre-high Mount Kanchenjunga.

• President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has welcomed the indication that Russia may be considering ending the war, calling it a positive sign. He emphasised the importance of a full, lasting, and reliable ceasefire as the first step towards peace.

• World leaders have praised the ceasefire between India and Pakistan as a key move to reduce tensions between the two countries. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres welcomed the development, urging both nations to build on this progress.

• Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi has said Iran will not back down on its nuclear rights in the negotiations with the US.

• Seasoned archer Deepika Kumari and Parth Salunkhe bagged bronze medals as India finished their campaign with seven medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 2 in Shanghai, China.
