- At the AI Action Summit in Paris, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasised the need for global cooperation to ensure AI benefits all of humanity. Co-chairing the summit alongside French President Emmanuel Macron, he highlighted AI’s transformative power while cautioning against inherent biases in AI.
- At the 14th India-France CEO Meeting, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar emphasised the importance of trust and transparency in the digital era, calling them shared values between India and France.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Estonia’s President Alar Karis on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris. This was the first meeting between the two leaders.
- Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has asserted that the government is focusing on bringing prosperity to the villages along with making agriculture, MSMEs, investment, and exports the growth engines.
- The Reel Making Challenge at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 has received over 3,370 registrations from across India and 20 countries as of the 5th of this month.
- Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi has said that a record allocation of more than 4 lakh crore has been designated for women’s welfare in the Union Budget 2025-26, marking an increase of more than 37 percent from the previous year.
- The country has received 90 percent of foreign direct investment under the automatic route as of now. This was stated by Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jatin Prasada in a written reply in the Lok Sabha.

- Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Estonia’s President Alar Karis on the sidelines of the AI Action Summit in Paris. This was the first meeting between the two leaders. The External Affairs Ministry said both leaders discussed various facets of India-Estonia relations.
- UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called for democratising Artificial Intelligence (AI), warning that the growing concentration of AI capabilities risks deepening geopolitical divides.
- Bangladesh has slipped two positions in Transparency International’s (TI) Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) for 2024, ranking 151st out of 180 countries.
- Three Indian computer science students from New Delhi won the Bronze Award at the Global Best M-Gov Award 2025 during the World Government Summit (WGS) in Dubai. The accolade recognises innovative technological solutions advancing mobile government services and societal progress.
- In the Philippines, the death toll due to flash floods caused by unrelenting rain in Palawan province has climbed to five. Local authorities said rescuers found two remaining bodies after floodwaters swept away a van carrying 12 people on Sunday night
- In Congo, at least 55 civilians were killed in an attack by militia fighters on a cluster of villages and a camp for displaced people in the Ituri province. Media reports said armed men from the Cooperative for the Development of Congo, or CODECO militia, attacked the Djaiba group of villages.
- The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) officially launched a seven-year project with Somalia that aims to enhance climate adaptation and resilience for vulnerable communities.

- In tennis, India’s Mukund Sasikumar has advanced to the second round of the Delhi Open. Sasikumar defeated France’s Sascha Gueymard Wayenburg 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 in the opening round of Men’s Singles.
- In badminton, the Asia Mixed Team Championships 2025 kicked off at Qingdao in China. The tournament features 12 teams, divided into four groups of three. India has been drawn in Group D with two-time runner-up South Korea and Macau,
- India’s most accomplished cueist, Pankaj Advani, has once again demonstrated his acumen by securing his 36th overall national title at the Indian Snooker Championship.
