Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reviewed the arrangements made for rail operations in view of escalation between India and Pakistan. Mr Vaishnaw directed the railway officials to coordinate with various government agencies and operate trains to help the people in the border areas.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level meeting with all three service chiefs of Army, Air Force, and Navy in New Delhi amid escalating India-Pakistan tension. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval were also present in the meeting.

The Centre has asked all states to give emergency procurement power to the heads of the civil defence authorities in case of an emergency situation. Director General of Fire Services, Civil Defence and Home Guards Vivek Srivastava wrote to States in this regard.

A Special NIA Court today sent 26/11 Mumbai terror attack accused Tahawwur Rana to judicial custody till 6th June. Rana was produced in court for an extension of his NIA custody after his 18-day remand ended on 28th April.

Union Health Minister J P Nadda chaired a high-level meeting to review emergency health systems preparedness with senior officers of the Health Ministry. During the meeting held in New Delhi, Mr Nadda was briefed on the urgent and comprehensive measures taken to strengthen Health Systems.

Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the food reserves in the country are sufficient. Mr Chouhan urged the citizens to remain calm at the time of any emergency. He added that there has been a bumper production and the conditions are also favorable.

• रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने भारत और पाकिस्तान के बीच तनाव बढ़ने के मद्देनजर रेल परिचालन के लिए किए गए प्रबंधों की समीक्षा की। श्री वैष्णव ने रेलवे अधिकारियों को विभिन्न सरकारी एजेंसियों के साथ समन्वय करने और सीमावर्ती क्षेत्रों में लोगों की मदद के लिए ट्रेनों का संचालन करने का निर्देश दिया।
• भारत-पाकिस्तान तनाव बढ़ने के बीच प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने नई दिल्ली में सेना, वायु सेना और नौसेना के तीनों सेना प्रमुखों के साथ एक उच्च स्तरीय बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। बैठक में रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह और राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सलाहकार अजीत डोभाल भी मौजूद थे।
• केंद्र ने सभी राज्यों से आपातकालीन स्थिति की स्थिति में नागरिक सुरक्षा अधिकारियों के प्रमुखों को आपातकालीन खरीद शक्ति देने को कहा है। अग्निशमन सेवा, नागरिक सुरक्षा और होमगार्ड के महानिदेशक विवेक श्रीवास्तव ने इस संबंध में राज्यों को लिखा।
• एक विशेष एनआईए अदालत ने आज २६/११ मुंबई आतंकी हमले के आरोपी तहव्वुर राणा को ६ जून तक न्यायिक हिरासत में भेज दिया। राणा को २८ अप्रैल को १८ दिन की रिमांड खत्म होने के बाद एनआईए की हिरासत बढ़ाने के लिए अदालत में पेश किया गया था।
• केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य मंत्री जे पी नड्डा ने स्वास्थ्य मंत्रालय के वरिष्ठ अधिकारियों के साथ आपातकालीन स्वास्थ्य प्रणालियों की तैयारियों की समीक्षा के लिए एक उच्च स्तरीय बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। नई दिल्ली में आयोजित बैठक के दौरान, श्री नड्डा को स्वास्थ्य प्रणालियों को मजबूत करने के लिए किए गए तत्काल और व्यापक उपायों के बारे में जानकारी दी गई।
• कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने कहा है कि देश में खाद्य भंडार पर्याप्त है। श्री चौहान ने नागरिकों से आग्रह किया कि वे किसी भी आपात स्थिति के समय शांत रहें। उन्होंने जोड़ा कि बंपर उत्पादन हुआ है और परिस्थितियां भी अनुकूल हैं।
