National Updates

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated multiple development projects worth over 46 thousand crore rupees  in Jammu and Kashmir during his visit.  Modi inaugurated the world’s highest railway arch bridge – Chenab Bridge and  India’s first cable-bridge.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G7 Summit later this month in Canada. Mr. Modi received a call from Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney. In a social media post, Prime Minister Modi congratulated Mr. Carney on his recent election victory and thanked him for the invitation to the G7 summit.

• Chief Adviser of the Interim Government of Bangladesh, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, announced that the country’s next national elections will be held in the first half of April next year.

• India and Central Asian countries underlined the importance of greater financial connectivity, including through digital payment systems. In the Joint Statement of 4th India-Central Asia Dialogue, the nations called for enhanced interbank relations and trade in national currencies.

• The Indian Air Force test pilot Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, selected for the Gaganyaan mission of ISRO, will be among the other multinational astronauts to be launched to the International Space Centre under Axiom 4 mission on June 10 by US space agency NASA.

• Home Minister Amit Shah launched Bharatiya Bhasha Anubhag in New Delhi. Mr Shah said it will prove to be a milestone in the direction of freeing the administration from the influence of foreign languages.

• A Delhi court extended the judicial custody of 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Hussain Rana till 9th of next month. Special Judge Chander Jit Singh ​has passed the order when Rana was produced.

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी ने अपनी यात्रा के दौरान जम्मू-कश्मीर में 46 हजार करोड़ रुपये से अधिक मूल्य की कई विकास परियोजनाओं की आधारशिला रखी, उनका उद्घाटन किया और उन्हें समर्पित किया। श्री मोदी ने विश्व के सबसे ऊंचे रेलवे आर्च ब्रिज – चिनाब ब्रिज और भारत के पहले केबल ब्रिज का उद्घाटन किया।
• प्रधानमंत्री नरेन्द्र मोदी इस महीने के अंत में कनाडा में होने वाले जी-7 शिखर सम्मेलन में भाग लेंगे। श्री मोदी को कनाडा के प्रधानमंत्री मार्क कार्नी का फोन आया। एक सोशल मीडिया पोस्ट में प्रधानमंत्री मोदी ने श्री कार्नी को उनकी हालिया चुनावी जीत पर बधाई दी तथा जी-7 शिखर सम्मेलन के निमंत्रण के लिए उन्हें धन्यवाद दिया।
• बांग्लादेश की अंतरिम सरकार के मुख्य सलाहकार डॉ. मुहम्मद यूनुस ने घोषणा की कि देश के अगले राष्ट्रीय चुनाव अगले वर्ष अप्रैल की पहली छमाही में होंगे।
• भारत और मध्य एशियाई देशों ने डिजिटल भुगतान प्रणालियों सहित अधिक वित्तीय कनेक्टिविटी के महत्व को रेखांकित किया। चौथे भारत-मध्य एशिया वार्ता के संयुक्त वक्तव्य में राष्ट्रों ने अंतर-बैंक संबंधों और राष्ट्रीय मुद्राओं में व्यापार को बढ़ाने का आह्वान किया।
• इसरो के गगनयान मिशन के लिए चुने गए भारतीय वायु सेना के परीक्षण पायलट ग्रुप कैप्टन शुभांशु शुक्ला, अमेरिकी अंतरिक्ष एजेंसी नासा द्वारा १० जून को एक्सिओम ४ मिशन के तहत अंतर्राष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष केंद्र में लॉन्च किए जाने वाले अन्य बहुराष्ट्रीय अंतरिक्ष यात्रियों में शामिल होंगे।
• गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने नई दिल्ली में भारतीय भाषा अनुभव का शुभारंभ किया। श्री शाह ने कहा कि यह प्रशासन को विदेशी भाषाओं के प्रभाव से मुक्त करने की दिशा में एक मील का पत्थर साबित होगा।
• दिल्ली की एक अदालत ने २६/११ मुंबई हमले के आरोपी तहव्वुर हुसैन राणा की न्यायिक हिरासत अगले महीने की ९ तारीख तक बढ़ा दी। राणा को पेश किए जाने पर विशेष न्यायाधीश चंद्र जीत सिंह ने आदेश पारित कर दिया है।

International Updates

• Russian air defence systems ​have intercepted and shot down 174 Ukrainian drones​. ​The Russian Defence Ministry has claimed ​ that the air defence systems ​ intercepted and destroyed ​t​he Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of the aircraft type over the territories of the Bryansk.

• A U.S. federal judge has temporarily blocked a proclamation by President Donald Trump that banned foreign students from entering the country to attend Harvard University. The university had filed a legal challenge urging the court to block the Trump administration’s order.

• The United States has imposed sanctions on four judges at the International Criminal Court (ICC), ramping up pressure on the Hague-based court of last resort. The four judges, all women, will be barred from entry to the United States, and any property or other interests will be blocked.

• In US, Quad Space Act of 2025 have been introduced to strengthen Quad space cooperation. The bill introduced by Senators Kevin Cramer and Michael Bennet.

• रूसी वायु रक्षा प्रणालियों ने 174 यूक्रेनी ड्रोनों को रोका और मार गिराया। रूसी रक्षा मंत्रालय ने दावा किया है कि वायु रक्षा प्रणालियों ने ब्रांस्क के क्षेत्रों में विमान प्रकार के यूक्रेनी मानव रहित हवाई वाहनों को रोका और नष्ट कर दिया।
• एक अमेरिकी संघीय न्यायाधीश ने राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प की उस घोषणा को अस्थायी रूप से रोक दिया है, जिसमें हार्वर्ड विश्वविद्यालय में अध्ययन के लिए विदेशी छात्रों के देश में प्रवेश पर प्रतिबंध लगाया गया था। विश्वविद्यालय ने कानूनी चुनौती दायर कर अदालत से ट्रम्प प्रशासन के आदेश को रोकने का आग्रह किया था।
• संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आपराधिक न्यायालय (आईसीसी) के चार न्यायाधीशों पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिए हैं, जिससे हेग स्थित अंतिम न्यायालय पर दबाव बढ़ गया है। चारों न्यायाधीशों, जिनमें सभी महिलाएं हैं, को संयुक्त राज्य अमेरिका में प्रवेश से रोक दिया जाएगा तथा उनकी संपत्ति या अन्य हितों पर भी रोक लगा दी जाएगी।
• अमेरिका में क्वाड स्पेस सहयोग को मजबूत करने के लिए 2025 का क्वाड स्पेस एक्ट पेश किया गया है। यह विधेयक सीनेटर केविन क्रैमर और माइकल बेनेट द्वारा प्रस्तुत किया गया।

• India’s campaign at the Indonesia Open Super 1000 ​came to an end as the top-ranked India doubles duo of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy went down to the Malaysian pairing of Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in the quarterfinals​ in Jakarta.

• The Indian cricket team has left for England for a five-match Test series, which is part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test Championship cycle. The series will be held from June to August 2025. This will be India’s first bilateral Test series since both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli announced their retirement.

• In French Open Tennis, Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori of Italy swept to a 1-nil victory over Americans Taylor Townsend and Evan King to claim the French Open mixed doubles crown in Paris, France.

• In Chess, Dommaraju Gukesh continues to etch his name into history, securing his fourth classical victory at the 2025 Norway Chess tournament.
