- Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with the prestigious Honorary Order of Freedom of Barbados Award in recognition of his strategic leadership and valuable assistance during the COVID-19 pandemic. The award was received by Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita.
- India is taking a major stride in Artificial Intelligence by creating a world-class AI infrastructure and a robust ecosystem for start-ups and innovators. Initiatives like the IndiaAI Mission and the establishment of Centres of Excellence for AI are strengthening the country’s Artificial Intelligence infrastructure.
- The 86th India-Bangladesh Joint River Commission held its first meeting in Kolkata. The 11-member Bangladeshi team held a detailed discussion with their Indian counterparts. A technical committee has also been formed.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need to foster partnerships with global cooperative organizations to expand the Indian cooperative sector. He also stressed the importance of promoting organic products through cooperative organizations.
- International Women’s Day will be celebrated around the world on 8th March. It is a day when women are recognized for their achievements across national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political boundaries.

- प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को कोविड-१९ महामारी के दौरान उनके रणनीतिक नेतृत्व और बहुमूल्य सहायता के सम्मान में प्रतिष्ठित मानद ऑर्डर ऑफ फ्रीडम ऑफ बारबाडोस पुरस्कार से सम्मानित किया गया है। यह पुरस्कार विदेश राज्य मंत्री पबित्रा मार्गेरिटा ने प्राप्त किया।

- In Nepal, a fire that broke out at Sansarkot Hill of the Palpa district of Lumbini Province is yet to be doused. The fire could not be controlled due to excessive fog and continuous storms. The fire has caused damage to four community forests spread over 170 hectares.
- Australia’s New South Wales State Emergency Service issued emergency evacuation warnings as tropical cyclone Alfred edges closer to the country’s east coast.
- European Union leaders began a day of emergency talks to strengthen their own security and ensure that Ukraine will still be properly protected. Friedrich Merz, the likely next chancellor of Germany, and summit chairman Antonio Costa discussed in Brussels ways to fortify Europe’s defences .
- Taiwan has called for reason and self-restraint following reports that China would increase its military spending by 7.2 per cent in 2025.
- The United Nations (UN) will slash monthly food aid for Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh from $12.50 to $6 per month from April due to a funding crisis.
- The Maldives has witnessed a sharp drop in exports in January 2025, with the total value falling by 29 million Maldivian Rufiya compared to the same month last year.

- नेपाल में लुंबिनी प्रांत के पाल्पा जिले के संसारकोट पहाड़ी पर लगी आग अभी तक बुझी नहीं है। अत्यधिक कोहरे और लगातार आंधी-तूफान के कारण आग पर काबू नहीं पाया जा सका। आग से १७० हेक्टेयर में फैले चार सामुदायिक जंगलों को नुकसान पहुंचा है।
