• Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Ramnath Thakur has said that currently, there is no proposal under consideration to increase the benefit amount under the PM Kisan Scheme.

• In Uttarakhand’s Uttarkashi district, a cloudburst in the Harsil region’s Dharali village this afternoon caused the Kheer Ganga river to swell suddenly, resulting in widespread destruction.

• The Parliament has given its nod to the statutory resolution regarding the extension of President’s rule in Manipur for a further period of six months with effect from 13th August 2025.

• कृषि एवं किसान कल्याण राज्य मंत्री रामनाथ ठाकुर ने कहा है कि फिलहाल पीएम किसान योजना के तहत लाभ राशि बढ़ाने का कोई प्रस्ताव विचाराधीन नहीं है।
• उत्तराखंड के उत्तरकाशी जिले में आज दोपहर हरसिल क्षेत्र के धाराली गांव में बादल फटने से खीर गंगा नदी अचानक उफान पर आ गई, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप व्यापक विनाश हुआ।
• संसद ने मणिपुर में राष्ट्रपति के शासन को 13 अगस्त 2025 से छह महीने की अतिरिक्त अवधि के लिए बढ़ाने के संबंध में वैधानिक प्रस्ताव को अपनी मंजूरी दे दी है।

International updates

• Israeli defence systems intercepted a new missile attack on the Ben Gurion Airport in central Israel launched by Yemen’s Houthi military group. The Houthis fired a hypersonic ballistic missile targeting the Israeli airport.

• Afghanistan is witnessing its sharpest-ever surge of child malnutrition, the World Food Program has said adding the country requires 539 million dollars to help the most vulnerable families.

• Australia and Japan have signed their largest-ever defence agreement. Australian Defence Minister Richard Marles said that under the deal, Australia will acquire 11 advanced Mogami-class stealth frigates from Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries to upgrade its naval fleet.

• Crude oil prices edged down today. Brent Crude was trading 1.21 per cent down at 67 dollars and 93 cents per barrel, and WTI Crude was also trading 1.3 per cent down at 65 dollars and 43 cents per barrel.

• Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro had been put under house arrest as per an order issued by the country’s Supreme Court. The decision was announced as the former president is facing trial for allegedly plotting a coup against President Lula da Silva.

• Russia has rejected recent US threats against India over its oil trade, asserting that sovereign nations have a right to choose their trading partners independently.

• Dubai has reaffirmed its status as a global tourism powerhouse, recording 9.88 million overnight international arrivals in the first half of 2025 a 6% increase over the same period in 2024.

• विश्व खाद्य कार्यक्रम ने कहा है कि अफगानिस्तान में बाल कुपोषण में अब तक की सबसे तीव्र वृद्धि देखी जा रही है। साथ ही, देश को सबसे कमजोर परिवारों की मदद के लिए 539 मिलियन डॉलर की आवश्यकता है।
• ऑस्ट्रेलिया और जापान ने अपने अब तक के सबसे बड़े रक्षा समझौते पर हस्ताक्षर किए हैं। ऑस्ट्रेलियाई रक्षा मंत्री रिचर्ड मार्लेस ने कहा कि इस समझौते के तहत ऑस्ट्रेलिया अपने नौसैनिक बेड़े को उन्नत करने के लिए जापान की मित्सुबिशी हेवी इंडस्ट्रीज से 11 उन्नत मोगामी श्रेणी के स्टील्थ फ्रिगेट खरीदेगा।
• कच्चे तेल की कीमतें आज कम हो गईं। ब्रेंट क्रूड १.२१ फीसदी की गिरावट के साथ ६७ डॉलर और ९३ सेंट प्रति बैरल पर कारोबार कर रहा था, और डब्ल्यूटीआई क्रूड भी १.३ फीसदी की गिरावट के साथ ६५ डॉलर और ४३ सेंट प्रति बैरल पर कारोबार कर रहा था।
• ब्राजील के सुप्रीम कोर्ट द्वारा जारी एक आदेश के अनुसार ब्राजील के पूर्व राष्ट्रपति जायर बोल्सोनारो को घर में नजरबंद कर दिया गया था। यह निर्णय ऐसे समय में घोषित किया गया है जब पूर्व राष्ट्रपति पर राष्ट्रपति लूला दा सिल्वा के खिलाफ तख्तापलट की साजिश रचने के आरोप में मुकदमा चल रहा है।
• रूस ने तेल व्यापार को लेकर भारत के खिलाफ हाल की अमेरिकी धमकियों को खारिज कर दिया है और कहा है कि संप्रभु राष्ट्रों को अपने व्यापारिक साझेदारों को स्वतंत्र रूप से चुनने का अधिकार है।
• दुबई ने वैश्विक पर्यटन महाशक्ति के रूप में अपनी स्थिति की पुष्टि की है, 2025 की पहली छमाही में 9.88 मिलियन रात्रिकालीन अंतर्राष्ट्रीय आगमन दर्ज किए गए, जो 2024 की इसी अवधि की तुलना में 6% अधिक है।

• The Boxing Federation of India announced the dates of 4th Sub-Junior Under-15 Boys and Girls National Boxing Championships which will be held from August 7 to 13 in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The event will see the participation of over 700 young boxers, including 400 boys and 300 girls.

• Tennis Star Novak Djokovic has withdrawn from the Cincinnati Open. According to the organisers, Djokovic was scheduled to make his first hard-court appearance since his semifinal defeat at Wimbledon.
