National Updates

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi was conferred with ‘The Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago’. Speaking on the occasion, Mr Modi said he is honoured to be conferred with the country’s highest national award. He said he accepts it on behalf of 140 crore Indians.

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah spoke with the Chief Ministers of Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and Chhattisgarh in the wake of heavy rainfall in different parts of the country.

• Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu said that civil aviation has become the fastest-growing sector. He said that India has become the third-largest domestic civil aviation network in the world.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Buenos Aires, after a successful visit to Trinidad and Tobago. The Prime Minister will be in Argentina on the invitation of President Javier Milei.

• Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for three significant initiatives in Pune. These include the unveiling of the equestrian statue of the Bajirao Peshwa I at the National Defence Academy (NDA).

• The Reserve Bank of India-RBI has removed 1,00,010 crore rupees from the banking system through the seven-day variable rate reverse repo (VRRR) auction. RBI in a release said that it had received bids worth 1,70,880 crore rupees, out of which bids worth 1,00,010 crore rupees were accepted.

• The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has banned U.S.-based investment firm Jane Street from Indian securities markets for manipulating stock indices and unlawfully earning 4,843 crore rupees.

• प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी को ‘द ऑर्डर ऑफ द रिपब्लिक ऑफ त्रिनिदाद एंड टोबैगो’ से सम्मानित किया गया। इस अवसर पर बोलते हुए श्री मोदी ने कहा कि वह देश के सर्वोच्च राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार से सम्मानित होने पर गौरवान्वित हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि वह १४० करोड़ भारतीयों की ओर से इसे स्वीकार करते हैं।
• केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में भारी बारिश के मद्देनजर गुजरात, हिमाचल प्रदेश, राजस्थान, उत्तराखंड और छत्तीसगढ़ के मुख्यमंत्रियों से बात की।
• केंद्रीय नागरिक उड्डयन मंत्री किंजारापु राम मोहन नायडू ने कहा कि नागरिक उड्डयन सबसे तेजी से बढ़ने वाला क्षेत्र बन गया है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत विश्व का तीसरा सबसे बड़ा घरेलू नागरिक विमानन नेटवर्क बन गया है।
• त्रिनिदाद और टोबैगो की सफल यात्रा के बाद प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ब्यूनस आयर्स पहुंचेंगे। राष्ट्रपति जेवियर माइली के निमंत्रण पर प्रधानमंत्री अर्जेंटीना में होंगे।
• केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने पुणे में तीन महत्वपूर्ण पहलों का उद्घाटन किया और उनकी आधारशिला रखी। इनमें राष्ट्रीय रक्षा अकादमी (एनडीए) में बाजीराव पेशवा प्रथम की घुड़सवार प्रतिमा का अनावरण भी शामिल है।
• भारतीय रिजर्व बैंक-आरबीआई ने सात दिवसीय परिवर्तनीय दर रिवर्स रेपो (वीआरआरआर) नीलामी के माध्यम से बैंकिंग प्रणाली से 1,00,010 करोड़ रुपये हटा दिए हैं। आरबीआई ने एक विज्ञप्ति में कहा कि उसे १,७०,८८० करोड़ रुपये की बोलियां मिली थीं, जिनमें से १,००,०१० करोड़ रुपये की बोलियां स्वीकार की गईं।
• भारतीय प्रतिभूति एवं विनिमय बोर्ड (सेबी) ने अमेरिकी निवेश फर्म जेन स्ट्रीट को स्टॉक सूचकांकों में हेरफेर करने और अवैध रूप से 4,843 करोड़ रुपये कमाने के आरोप में भारतीय प्रतिभूति बाजारों से प्रतिबंधित कर दिया है।

• In Italy, over 40 people were injured in a gas station explosion on Via Gordiani in the Prenestino district of eastern Rome. Some of the casualties included rescue workers responding to the scene.

• Russia has launched fresh massive aerial attacks on Ukraine. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Russia has launched one of the largest-scale air attacks against Ukraine in recent times, involving 550 targets, including at least 330 Russian-Iranian ‘Shahed’ drones.

• The Sri Lankan Cabinet has approved presenting the 2026 Appropriation Bill to Parliament in October this year. The Budget speech is scheduled for November, followed by debate in November and December. The Budget will align with the “Rich Country – Beautiful Country” policy vision.

• Sri Lanka Customs has collected over 1 trillion Sri Lankan rupees in revenue during the first six months of 2025, putting it on track to surpass the government’s annual revenue target of Rs. 2.115 trillion.

• Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), one of India’s largest steel producers, has inaugurated its Representative Office in Dubai. Steel and Heavy Industries Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy inaugurated SAIL’s first international office in West Asia, marking a significant step in its global expansion.

• US President Donald Trump has announced plans to send letters to various countries outlining the tariffs they will be required to pay. The letters could begin circulating as early as today.

• Russia said that it had accepted the credentials of a new ambassador of Afghanistan, making it the first nation to recognise the Taliban government of the country.
