• Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers is observing Janaushadhi Saptah 2026, a nationwide initiative aimed at promoting affordable and high-quality generic medicines. On the third day of the campaign, 47 camps were executed, engaging thousands and emphasising services for women, senior citizens.

• External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with the Governor of Delaware, US, Matt Meyer and his wife, Lauren Meyer, in New Delhi. In a social media post, Dr Jaishankar expressed appreciation to the Governor of Delaware for his deep interest in promoting economic, technological and educational spheres.

• National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management-Kundli (NIFTEM-K), under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon, Canada, to foster academic and research collaboration.

• Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal today held a consultation meeting with all stakeholder Ministries, key logistics and trade facilitation partners to review the emerging geopolitical situation and its potential impact on India’s Exports and Imports.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi today spoke to the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, over the phone and condemned the violation of Kuwait’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said India stands with the people of Kuwait in this difficult hour.

• India today strongly reiterated its call for dialogue and diplomacy in the ongoing conflict in the West Asian region. In a statement, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said India is raising its voice clearly in favour of an early end to the conflict.

• Conflict in West Asia has intensified as Iran and joint Israeli-US forces have launched new waves of missile and drone attacks. As per the latest reports, Israel is currently conducting simultaneous targeted strikes against military targets in Tehran and Beirut.

• An earthquake of magnitude 4.3 struck near the Gerash city in southern Iran. According to the United States Geological Survey, the quake occurred at a shallow depth of around 10 kilometers. No serious damage or casualties has been reported so far.

• Afghan forces have seized key Pakistani military posts along the border as clashes along the Durand Line entered the fifth consecutive day. Afghanistan’s Defence Ministry said that its forces carried out retaliatory strikes on Pakistani bases following recent air raids by the Pakistan Air Force.

• Israel is currently conducting simultaneous targeted strikes against military targets in Tehran and Beirut. In a social media post, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) said that its soldiers are operating in southern Lebanon and are positioned at several points near the border.

• United States First Lady Melania Trump today presided over a United Nations Security Council meeting on children and education in conflict in New York. This is the first time that the spouse of any world leader has presided over the meeting of the 15-member UNSC.

• The United States Central Command has said that the US forces have destroyed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) command and control facilities, Iranian air defence capabilities, missile and drone launch sites, and military airfields during sustained operations.

• Crude oil prices steadied after a sharp surge in the previous session amid escalating tensions in West Asia. According to media reports, US crude futures rose 1.4 per cent to 72.23 dollars a barrel, while Brent crude gained nearly 1.9 per cent to trade at 79.2 dollars in the early trade.
