National Updates
- A group of alumni, eminent personalities, and contributors to corporate social responsibility called on President Droupadi Murmu at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. On the occasion, the President said that the real wealth of nations lies in its people.
- Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has said that the country’s Research and Development spending has doubled in the last decade, from more than sixty thousand crore in 2013-14 to 1.27 Lakh Crore rupees.
- During the 7th meeting of the National Board for Wildlife at Sasan Gir in Junagadh district, the Prime Minister released the report of the first-ever riverine dolphin estimation conducted in the country, which estimated a total of 6,327 dolphins.

- Preliminary results show that Tajikistan’s ruling People’s Democratic Party has won parliamentary elections with 51.9 per cent of the vote.
- The ambitious India-Middle East-Europe Corridor (IMEEC) gained significant momentum following high-level discussions between Indian and UAE officials in Abu Dhabi this week, marking a major step forward for the transcontinental connectivity project.
- India and Nepal signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in New Delhi to enhance cooperation in the Water Sanitation, Hygiene sector, and waste management.
- Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kuthar, a Khukri-class corvette, arrived at Colombo port for a three-day visit. The ship received a ceremonial welcome from the Sri Lanka Navy, accompanied by traditional tunes from the naval band.
- In Bangladesh, the Supreme Court on Monday upheld the High Court order that acquitted Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia scrapping her seven-year jail term in the Zia Charitable Trust graft case.
- In Sri Lanka, the Election Commission has announced the timelines for submission of nominations for the Local Government Elections on the island. The poll body said that the nominations will be accepted from March 17 until 12 noon on March 20.
- In Sri Lanka, Inflation as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) has further decreased to -4.2% in February this year.
