National Updates
- Indian Army has said that the search and rescue operations at the Mana Avalanche site in Uttrakhand concluded yesterday. In the operation, 46 workers were rescued successfully and are currently being given the necessary medical treatment.
- The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy rainfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh tomorrow. Similar conditions are expected, accompanied by thunderstorms and hailstorms in isolated places over Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Punjab, and Uttarakhand.
- Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah will inaugurate the workshop on sustainability and circularity in the dairy sector in New Delhi today. The workshop will focus on policies and initiatives of the Ministry of Cooperation and the Ministry of Animal Husbandry, Dairying.

- India has witnessed a considerable decrease in poverty over the last decade according to a new paper. The paper, published by economists Surjit S Bhalla and Karan Bhasin, analysed data from recently released household expenditure data for 2022-23 and 2023-24.
- The Election Commission has clarified that duplication in EPIC numbers does not imply duplicate or fake voters. The Commission said this in a statement following certain media reports flagging the issue of electors of two different states having identical EPIC numbers.

- A coalition of human rights organisations and refugee advocacy groups has asked Pakistan to immediately halt the forced deportation of Afghan migrants. As per the media reports, they stated that the policy violates international law and Pakistan’s commitment to refugee protection.
- US firm Firefly Aerospace achieved its first successful moon landing with the Blue Ghost spacecraft, touching down near Mare Crisium. The uncrewed lander, carrying 10 scientific payloads, marks Firefly as the second private company to land on the moon.
- In Angola, the number of people killed in the latest cholera outbreak has risen to 201. The Health Ministry of Angola has announced that nearly 5,600 people have been infected since early January.
- US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order designating English as the official language of the United States.

- In the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy, India beat New Zealand by 44 runs in the final Group A ODI encounter at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Chasing the target of 250 runs, Kiwis were all out for 205 runs in 45.3 overs.
