National News

•A Japan Airlines plane was engulfed in flames at Tokyo’s Haneda airport after a collision with a Coast Guard aircraft. All 379 passengers and crew of the Japan Airlines plane escaped but five of the six crew of the coast guard plane were killed.
•Russia fired scores of missiles and drones at the Ukrainian capital Kyiv and the northeastern city of Kharkiv today, killing at least five civilians and wounding dozens.
•Armed forces will be deployed across Bangladesh for eight days from Wednesday to assist the local civil administration during the national election.
•Russia’s 2024 BRICS Chairmanship began yesterday. On this occasion, Russian President Vladimir Putin said, it will act precisely as per the motto “Strengthening Multilateralism for Equitable Global Development and Security”, and focus on positive and constructive cooperation with all countries concerned.
•Death toll from powerful earthquake in Japan reaches 48.
