• The Indian Army will host the United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ (UNTCC) Chiefs Conclave in New Delhi from 14 to 16 of this month. Senior military leadership from over 30 nations will participate in the conclave.

• The situation in the Leh district of Ladakh Union Territory has further improved on the eighth day of the imposition of 163 sections of Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).

• Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh launched the book Wings of Valour by Swapnil Pandey. The book describes Indian Air Force’s daring operations and includes an exclusive account of Operation Sindoor.

• The Union Cabinet has approved Dearness Allowance (DA) to Central Government employees and Dearness Relief (DR) to pensioners by three per cent.

• Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Thermo Fisher Scientific to accelerate innovation in India’s biotechnology sector.

• Widespread unrest has gripped Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir (PoJK), with violent protests and mass demonstrations erupting across key districts. Demonstrators from Rawalakot and Mirpur, mobilised by the Jammu & Kashmir Awami Action Committee (JKAAC), reached Dadyal in Kotli.

• In Germany, police in the southern city of Munich said the famous Oktoberfest event was temporarily closed for several hours following a bomb threat linked to a deadly fire at a home in the northern part of the city.

• South Africa’s ambassador to France, Nathi Mthethwa, has been found dead in Paris a day after being reported missing. The 58-year-old diplomat was discovered in the interior courtyard of the Hyatt Regency Hotel yesterday morning by a security guard.

• A group of law students from Vanuatu and human rights lawyer Julian Aguon were awarded the Right Livelihood Award for championing climate justice. The group, Pacific Islands Students Fighting Climate Change (PISFCC), pushed the issue of climate protection to the International Court of Justice.

• Wall Street’s three major indices closed in positive territory after a choppy trade session yesterday, as investors braced for a US government shutdown. The S&P 500 gained 0.4 per cent to end at 6 thousand 688, the tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index closed 0.3 per cent up to close at 22 thousand.

• The United States government has officially shut down for the first time in nearly seven years. The shutdown comes after Republicans and Democrats in Congress failed to reach an agreement.

• भारतीय सेना इस महीने की 14 से 16 तारीख तक नई दिल्ली में संयुक्त राष्ट्र सैन्य योगदान देने वाले देशों’ (यूएनटीसीसी) प्रमुखों के सम्मेलन की मेजबानी करेगी। इस सम्मेलन में 30 से अधिक देशों के वरिष्ठ सैन्य नेतृत्व भाग लेंगे।
• भारतीय नागरिक सुरक्षा संहिता (बीएनएसएस) की 163 धाराएं लागू होने के आठवें दिन लद्दाख केंद्र शासित प्रदेश के लेह जिले में स्थिति में और सुधार हुआ है।
• वायु सेना प्रमुख, एयर चीफ मार्शल एपी सिंह ने स्वप्नील पांडे की पुस्तक विंग्स ऑफ वैलोर का लोकार्पण किया। पुस्तक में भारतीय वायु सेना के साहसिक अभियानों का वर्णन किया गया है तथा इसमें ऑपरेशन सिंदूर का विशेष विवरण भी शामिल है।
• केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडल ने केंद्र सरकार के कर्मचारियों को महंगाई भत्ता (डीए) और पेंशनभोगियों को महंगाई राहत (डीआर) को तीन प्रतिशत की मंजूरी दी है।
• उद्योग एवं आंतरिक व्यापार संवर्धन विभाग (डीपीआईआईटी) ने भारत के जैव प्रौद्योगिकी क्षेत्र में नवाचार में तेजी लाने के लिए थर्मो फिशर साइंटिफिक के साथ एक समझौता ज्ञापन पर हस्ताक्षर किए।

• पाकिस्तान के कब्जे वाले जम्मू और कश्मीर (पीओजेके) में व्यापक अशांति फैल गई है, प्रमुख जिलों में हिंसक विरोध प्रदर्शन और बड़े पैमाने पर प्रदर्शन शुरू हो गए हैं। जम्मू-कश्मीर अवामी एक्शन कमेटी (जेकेएएसी) द्वारा जुटाए गए रावलकोट और मीरपुर के प्रदर्शनकारी कोटली के दादयाल पहुंचे।
• जर्मनी में, दक्षिणी शहर म्यूनिख की पुलिस ने कहा कि शहर के उत्तरी भाग में एक घर में लगी घातक आग से जुड़ी बम की धमकी के बाद प्रसिद्ध ओकटोबरफेस्ट कार्यक्रम को कई घंटों के लिए अस्थायी रूप से बंद कर दिया गया था।
• फ्रांस में दक्षिण अफ्रीका के राजदूत नाथी मथेथवा लापता होने की सूचना मिलने के एक दिन बाद पेरिस में मृत पाए गए हैं। ५८ वर्षीय राजनयिक को कल सुबह हयात रीजेंसी होटल के आंतरिक प्रांगण में एक सुरक्षा गार्ड ने खोजा था।
• वानुअतु के कानून के छात्रों के एक समूह और मानवाधिकार वकील जूलियन एगुओन को जलवायु न्याय की वकालत के लिए राइट लाइवलीहुड अवार्ड से सम्मानित किया गया। पेसिफिक आइलैंड्स स्टूडेंट्स फाइटिंग क्लाइमेट चेंज (पीआईएसएफसीसी) नामक समूह ने जलवायु संरक्षण के मुद्दे को अंतर्राष्ट्रीय न्यायालय में उठाया।

• संयुक्त राज्य सरकार लगभग सात वर्षों में पहली बार आधिकारिक तौर पर बंद हुई है। यह शटडाउन कांग्रेस में रिपब्लिकन और डेमोक्रेट के बीच किसी समझौते पर पहुंचने में विफल रहने के बाद हुआ है।
