• Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired the 28th meeting of the Western Zonal Council at Panaji in Goa. Addressing the gathering, Mr Shah said, there are no longer any disputes among the states of the Western Region, which is a major achievement.

• Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Suresh Gopi said that the Centre has asked the Oil Marketing Companies OMCs to uniformly implement the revised LPG refill booking interval of 25 days in both urban and rural areas immediately.

• e-FAST India, an initiative of NITI Aayog launched the Platform for Aggregating Clean Transport (PACT) to support accelerated zero-emission freight deployment in the country. Member, NITI Aayog, Rajiv Gauba launched the Platform during the 5th e-FAST India Summit 2026, in New Delhi.

• National Green Tribunal (NGT) Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava has said clean air is a fundamental need and not an environmental luxury. Justice Shrivastava made these remarks while addressing the gathering of the Swachh Vayu Diwas programme on the occasion of International Day of Clean Air.

• The Delhi High Court has directed the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to conduct an inquiry at the highest executive level into the collapse of a building at Satya Niketan in National Capital and examine whether the structure had been constructed and operated with valid permissions.

• Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Shivraj Singh Chouhan chaired a meeting in New Delhi to review the Action Plan for strengthening Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) through enhanced participation of States.

• The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) today cleared capital acquisition proposals worth over 1.10 lakh crore rupees for the defence forces. The approval was granted during a meeting of the Council held under the Chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

• President Droupadi Murmu handed over the President’s Cup of the Durand Cup Tournament 2026 to the winning team, East Bengal Football Club at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi.

International Updates

• Russia and North Korea have opened the first road bridge across their shared border today. Russian officials hailed the development to boost nations’ deepening ties with North Korea.

• The fourth United Nations Climate Week has opened in Azerbaijan’s capital, Baku, weeks before COP31. Governments, Financial Institutions, Businesses and Climate Experts have come together for a five-day meeting being held till 11th of this month to deliberate upon climate action, finance, etc.

• The Indian Embassy in China has requested the families of Indian nationals who remain missing in the devastating mudslide and flash flood last month, to submit DNA samples to assist in the identification process.

• The death toll from the devastating Nepal-Tibet flash floods has surged to 1,355, according to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Managment Authority.The highest number of fatalities have been reported in Chitwan at 363, followed by Nawalparasi East with 222, Nawalparasi West with 221.

• In Tennis, India’s Karan Singh clinched the Men’s Singles title at the ITF Men’s World Tour M15, at Bali in Indonesia. This is Karan’s fourth career title and his third of the 2026 season — second in singles. 

• Reigning world champion Sheetal Devi has confirmed a medal for India by storming into the women’s compound individual final on the third day of the stage three of World Archery Para Series in Ahmedabad.

• In football, India qualified for the AFC U20 Asian Cup main tournament for the first time in 20 years, after a 3-nil win over Bangladesh in their final qualifying match in Tashkent.

• केंद्रीय गृह मंत्री अमित शाह ने गोवा के पणजी में पश्चिमी क्षेत्रीय परिषद की 28वीं बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। सभा को संबोधित करते हुए श्री शाह ने कहा, पश्चिमी क्षेत्र के राज्यों के बीच अब कोई विवाद नहीं है, जो एक बड़ी उपलब्धि है।
• केंद्रीय पेट्रोलियम एवं प्राकृतिक गैस राज्य मंत्री सुरेश गोपी ने कहा कि केंद्र ने तेल विपणन कंपनियों के ओएमसी से शहरी और ग्रामीण दोनों क्षेत्रों में 25 दिनों के संशोधित एलपीजी रिफिल बुकिंग अंतराल को तुरंत समान रूप से लागू करने को कहा है।
• नीति आयोग की पहल ई-फास्ट इंडिया ने देश में त्वरित शून्य-उत्सर्जन माल ढुलाई को समर्थन देने के लिए स्वच्छ परिवहन एकत्रीकरण मंच (पीएसीटी) का शुभारंभ किया। नीति आयोग के सदस्य राजीव गौबा ने नई दिल्ली में 5वें ई-फास्ट इंडिया शिखर सम्मेलन 2026 के दौरान इस प्लेटफॉर्म का शुभारंभ किया।
• राष्ट्रीय हरित न्यायाधिकरण (एनजीटी) के अध्यक्ष न्यायमूर्ति प्रकाश श्रीवास्तव ने कहा है कि स्वच्छ हवा एक बुनियादी जरूरत है न कि पर्यावरणीय विलासिता। न्यायमूर्ति श्रीवास्तव ने अंतर्राष्ट्रीय स्वच्छ वायु दिवस के अवसर पर स्वच्छ वायु दिवस कार्यक्रम की सभा को संबोधित करते हुए ये टिप्पणियां कीं।
• दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालय ने दिल्ली नगर निगम (एमसीडी) को राष्ट्रीय राजधानी के सत्य निकेतन में एक इमारत के ढहने की उच्चतम कार्यकारी स्तर पर जांच करने और यह जांचने का निर्देश दिया है कि क्या संरचना का निर्माण और संचालन वैध अनुमतियों के साथ किया गया था।
• केंद्रीय कृषि एवं कृषक’ कल्याण मंत्री शिवराज सिंह चौहान ने राज्यों की बढ़ी हुई भागीदारी के माध्यम से कृषि विज्ञान केंद्रों (केवीके) को मजबूत करने के लिए कार्य योजना की समीक्षा के लिए नई दिल्ली में एक बैठक की अध्यक्षता की।
• रक्षा अधिग्रहण परिषद (डीएसी) ने आज रक्षा बलों के लिए 1.10 लाख करोड़ रुपये से अधिक मूल्य के पूंजी अधिग्रहण प्रस्तावों को मंजूरी दे दी। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह की अध्यक्षता में आयोजित परिषद की बैठक के दौरान यह मंजूरी दी गई।
