• Union Minister of State for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Dr. Jitendra Singh, launched the IAS e-Civil List 2026 in New Delhi.

• 15 people mostly students aged between 16 and 25 years died in a tragic fire incident in Aliganj area of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh last afternoon. The fire broke out at an animation coaching centre operating above a shop in Puraniya area of Aliganj, triggering panic among students.

• Shiv Sena leader and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced that six Lok Sabha MPs from the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction have joined the Shiv Sena.

• India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange-colour warning for heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of north-east India and sub-Himalayan West Bengal for tomorrow. Heavy rainfall is also expected over Coastal Karnataka, Konkan, Goa, Odisha, and Telangana during the next two days.

• Chemicals and Fertilizers Ministry has said that four cargo ships, carrying shipments of Urea, Di-Ammonium Phosphate (DAP), and Sulphur have successfully crossed the Strait of Hormuz last week. These vessels are currently heading toward their designated destination ports across the country.

• India has become the World’s Top Ship Recycling Nation in the year 2025. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways said that as per the latest report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, India’s share of global ship recycling increased to 35.4 per cent in 2025.

• US Vice President JD Vance has said that peace talks in Switzerland with Iran created a good foundation for a successful final deal to end the war.

• The Bangladesh government has deployed army personnel in Dhaka and five other key areas until June 30, citing security concerns and possible unrest ahead of the founding anniversary of the Awami League on June 23.

• In UK, senior politician Andy Burnham has formally become the Makerfield MP as he took oath in the House of Commons after Keir Starmer’s resignation. Widely regarded as the frontrunner to succeed Starmer, Mr. Burnham gained significant momentum after returning to Westminster.

• The Centre informed the Supreme Court that the CBSE has come up with a new policy for the evaluation of private students, who were affected by the cancellation of Class XII board examination in Gulf countries due to the recent Iran-US war.

• Global crude oil prices declined after US and Iranian officials wrapped up their first round of talks in Switzerland. Brent crude slipped by 1.7 per cent to 79 US dollars and 17 cents per barrel, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped half a per cent to 75 US dollars.

• In shooting, India added four more medals at the ISSF Junior World Championship, including a gold medal by teenager Pritam Kendre, to strengthen its position at the top of the medals tally. Pritam Kendre clinched gold in the 10-metre Air Rifle Men’s Junior event, earning country’s fifth gold medal.

• In FIFA World Cup 2026, Egypt registered their first-ever World Cup victory, 3-1, over New Zealand in Vancouver.

• उत्तर प्रदेश के लखनऊ के अलीगंज इलाके में कल दोपहर एक दुखद आग की घटना में १५ लोगों की मौत हो गई, जिनमें ज्यादातर १६ से २५ साल की उम्र के छात्र थे। अलीगंज के पूरानिया इलाके में एक दुकान के ऊपर संचालित एनीमेशन कोचिंग सेंटर में आग लग गई, जिससे छात्रों में दहशत फैल गई।
• शिवसेना नेता और महाराष्ट्र के उपमुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे ने घोषणा की कि शिवसेना (यूबीटी) गुट के छह लोकसभा सांसद शिवसेना में शामिल हो गए हैं।
